My conclusion of to this season and this division is that you don't need to be good to win, you just need to be less sh!t than the the other lot.

Radio Robins commentary really irritating today. 1) because it keeps cutting out and 2) because the commentator seems to find Alty playing badly is somehow funny.

Song, to judge by the scan, is probably "Volare" by the Gypsy Kings.
Didn't we use it a couple of years ago?

Much older song than the Gypsy Kings version. Was third in the 1958 Eurovision Song Contest, and Dean Martin had a go with it too.

I thought as a full time club i would be able to contact them weekdays, between 0900 and1700.This is not the case,I have rung the club 3 times this morning to try and sort out my hospitality package i have won in Januarys draw.'Please leave your name and number and we will get back to you the next working day'.I live in Devon and need to book a hotel for the weekend and also sort out travel to Alty. I am trying to arrange it for the Solihul game on the 25th.
You're right, we should probably spend playing wage budget on having someone answer the phone at an empty stadium.

There are people at the club office every day.

I know its hard to compare the NL with the Evostik league, but last night I was thinking how much we need a James Poole type player who can hold the ball and make space for other players.

One thing that came out of the interview I did with PP on Saturday is that he said we don't practise set pieces in a genuine, contested way for fear of people getting injured. We just give them a lot of info on what the opposition will look to do. I can't help thinking that needs to change because it's clearly not working. Our vulnerability at set pieces is getting ridiculous.

I remember years ago watching a documentary on football where (might have been) Stan Cullis said at (might have been) Wolves they didn't train with a football so they'd be hungry for the ball on match day. Maybe we could try that too.

Bromley straight out of chapter one of "How to win matches in the National League". Take your chances even if you only get two all game, and be organised at the back. I don't think Byrne made a save all game, and their keeper only made one.
Alty were weak in midfield and upfront. No one appeared in control until Pringle came on, and first half no clear strategy in attack. Hulme lucky to stay on. Cashman lucky to get MOM, and his brightest contribution to the game was getting substituted. Sinclair invisible all game apart from being on the end of a nasty tackle and appearing from nowhere to take his goal well. Too many times the ball was given away when no pressure.
Teams below are picking up points. I don't know what's Parkinson's best eleven is, but i'm pretty sure that wasn't it tonight.

A good but hard listen with all the crowd around. That screechy woman was very irritating.

The commentators were I think over optimistic when discussing Alty's chances of progression towards the final. Some very tricky games in that list. It will be Gateshead away obviously.

i must be confusing the Blackburn and Orient crowd sizes (i was at both games). the blackburn replay was in the afternoon because of the three-day week during the miners strike with the early ko to avoid having to use the floodlights. we all bunked off school but got away with it. i've still not told my mum.
