You just couldn't write this up. A day after we are relegated a rallying call for fans to put the hands in their pockets.

Amazing

Love these clips, my first full season watching Alty.

Remember Andy Green kicking the door off the changing room at Dagenham after being sent off 😂

I conducted the usual post-match interview with Matt, and I have now finished the lengthy process of transcribing from my digital voice recorder, writing it up in full and emailing it to John Laidlar for inclusion on the website, which he estimates should happen at around 7pm. I do apologise if anyone feels this should have been done earlier.

I think the OP was referring to the fact we just had our second relegation on the bounce confirmed yesterday and diddly squat has come out the club

Joke

Just when you think things can't and won't get anymore bizarre.

Posts a book about being bullied but then singles out a long standing supporter

I would like to make a couple of points in addition to my original statement.

1.  The decision to change the password on the Twitter account was a Board decision - discussed and agreed by the Board.  As a board we have recognised that we have not necessarily acted as a collective in the past; and as part of our evolution we are trying to make sure we do going forward.  In this case, we did take a collective decision and increasingly we will do so in the future.

2. I put out the statement, and take accountability for the error because I am the Director with responsibility for communication.  No-one is hiding behind me, I am rather stepping up to meet my obligations.  Again as a board we have recognised that we each need to take individual accountability for the areas we look after.  What this will mean, to be clear, is that there will no longer be just one individual  - the Chairman - being held to account for what goes on at the club, we all will be.  Collectively accountable for the decisions we take together and individually accountable for those areas under our control.  In my opinion this is healthy change and will lead to a healthier club.

3. I have no objection to the board being criticised for mistakes we make, and be sure we will make mistakes from time to time.  But can we please stop the personal criticism of family members, specifically in this case the Rowley family.  I do not believe this has any place in a debate about rights and wrongs of this or any other issue.  Ad hominem commentary has no place in interactions between the board and the fans.  So please can we make every effort to cut this out.

As a board we are trying to change - and we need to in order to face up to and overcome the challenges facing the club.  Please recognise our positive intentions.  We have a big job ahead of us.  And lets keep the criticism directed firmly where it belongs if we do not deliver change - at the board, at each and every one of us but not elsewhere.

I would never myself get personal but as chairman of my football club I see Rowley at the head of criticism, and quite rightly so.

Positive intentions? We're about to be relegated AGAIN, to our lowest EVER position on our history. Ive seen nothing positive whatsoever for a long time, don't think I will, don't expect to. Lost heart following the team I've supported for 14 years, season in season out

This is the final straw for me. I'm finished with Rowley FC. So many happy memories and emotions watching the alty since 1994 when I fell in love with shazza, carmo, Andy green etc. Sometimes in life you have to make a stand. I won't be attending when that man is at the club (apart from any action as regards to future protests)

Same for me.

My club is a shambles.

Regarding the social media: We had a damn good team of volunteers who dragged the club into 2017, gaining popularity for tweets and the such. All gone at the change of a password given the nod from the chairman. That decision wasn't in the interest of the football club but was clearly to save further embarrassment to Rowley. As for Paul Salts comment, if you're going to dish out patronising literature at least make sure it's relevant.

Very sad that decent long standing supporters who have VOLUNTERED their time and energy into running the social aspect of the club get treated the way they have. There was absolutely nothing out of the ordinary posted on Saturday, therefore I have to come to the conclusion the chairman instigated the act out of retaliation towards fans of the club who are against his leadership.

Altrincham FC is fast becoming all about Mr Rowley.

Next will be a paid independent body to run the social side!

As I said on another thread it's extremely sad when I'd rather work and keep out the way. Haven't felt as low and disconnected from my club in 24 years.

It's a sad state of affairs when I'd rather work. Can't remember the last time I've worked so many Saturdays during a season. My clubs disappearing into oblivion, the chairman can't see his errors, I'd rather just stay away 😡

Here we go again with communication pantomime

Someone best tell Salford and Chris Lynch if that's the case as they seem to think he has

Deasy, error prone for basic stuff, fumbling the ball from corners
Jones, first time he's looked well off the pace, lost possession several times
Cyrus, no confidence - hoof ball and poor passes
Hannigan, definitely something there needs a decent partner
Lawrie, invisible
Moult, never known a player go from top to bottom in confidence as he has
Clee, only one who looks like creating something for no one to take adavantage
Owens, improvement on last week but missed a chance that should've been a goal
Richman, invisible
McWilliams, not for me- better left backs out there

I agree that Rowley has clearly gone down the sentimanetal route with two seasoned ex players. It isn't at won't work. Get some meat head gripper boss who knows the lower leagues to rip this shower of sh*t up and assemble a team of workers and runners. Today, Fylde wore a white kit the guy Rowe has scored two goals and not got an inch of dirt on him

I heard and saw some commotion at the end of the game and quite frankly it's expected. To start arguing about what's posted on Twitter via updates is one of the funniest things I've read on here. Regarding the corners, any player, regardless who, should NOT be putting a ball into touch from a corner, on to Owens - I was stood near the guy shouting at him to shoot, I've been to all our games home and away for the last two months and in my opinion Owens doesn't play the ball quick enough or shoot, he does the hard work then over plays and loses it. This is evident from the other players on the pitch who also become frustrated during games exchanging words. Frankly, it's embarrassing when one of the triers in recent games is a loan player!! (Newby)

I looked at the league last night and couldn't believe Chorley were 3rd, utterly gobsmacked- and we're getting relegated from this shower of sh*t. If you think we've hit the bottom yet I don't think we have, it'll be harder in the Evostick!

First time I've seen Heathcote openly stood up shouting instructions to the pitch. Too many chiefs

Mcwilliams looked steady and should get better

Crowd of 1000

Hannigan to come back...hall looked ok

Still could be tweaked imho...individually the players are better than today.

Thats me done...out of positives  :) ....cmon alty

Hall looked ok? Wow, you didn't see his pathetic attempt at throwing a leg out square on against their player who went past him with ease followed by getting caught out of position and shouting at Moult to cover followed by lob for 2-0?

« on: October 14, 2016, 09:23:16 AM »
My own opinion on this is that I think the "club" are talking absolute bollocks. Firstly, as identified, it was a smoke bomb and not a flare. Yes it was stupid and i would coherse people in to not throwing one but - hey ho it's happened amongst us going 1-0 away from home in a competition we were yet to win in. As for the FA, it wouldn't be hard to contact them and ask if they have asked for an opinion on this and call the clubs bluff. It was an unsegregated game, we already provide stewarding at ML who check bags etc upon admittance to the ground so as far as the "club" are concerned there's not a lot more they can do, we won't get fined it's a smokesceeen to chastise yet again I'm afraid.

The "club" seem to be one huge PR disaster at the moment. I've put "the club" in inverted commas as it seems when it suits we are all in this together yet at other times there's a massive divide between SUPPORTERS and chairman/directors

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Going Forward
« on: October 09, 2016, 10:11:39 AM »
It now looks as if we have turned a corner and we are now looking a very good outfit once again. I am particularly pleased that we have now gone two games without conceding. Good teams start from the back, and we are now looking good in all departments. Funnily enough, though it is early days, we only required small tweaks to the current squad to get where we are now but what an inspired re-signing Greg Wilkinson is proving to be. I was unable to make the Stalybridge game last night as we had a house party - where I quaffed 5 pints of Dunham Massey Alty Ale. Good pint.

I must say that Jim has been a revelation since his arrival, to have turned things round so quickly with the nucleus of the same squad at the start of the season. Long may his success continue. He must know now have much we are behind him, as he deservedly reaps the benefits of our backing. I was really impressed with the following I heard on Radio Robins yesterday, especially as there were over 200 of us and I am sorry I could not be there. Lots of our players are coming good now, and there is no shortage of goals, but ur organisation seems much better, even without Tom Hannigan at present.

Yes after the dark days of the beginning of the season, there is now much to look forward to, so lets close ranks and get behind the team once again - and enjoy coming to Alty once more.

Keeping it going all at Alty, I am sure good days are ahead once more.

Onwards and Upwards!!

Let's not get giddy. It was a god awful game where they had a few chances that would usually be taken. We are still making mistakes that tend to get punished, we got away with it yesterday as Stalybridge contrived to be worse than us. That said I agree that Wilkinson is a revelation!
