Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Fans must be vocal

If anyone, it'd be me on Rowleys back. Never forget as he walked past as I was being assaulted by 4 bouncers on the floor at Colwyn Bay after my wife had been smashed into the stand by one. Never asked if she was ok, never responded to my letter to the club, has never asked of my wife was ok. In fact, the only person who had a decent conversation with me was Neil Tolson!!

I put it to the back of my head and never held an agenda as always 'thought' he had the club at heart.

I agree with Cheshire Cat. Just because the opening 3 results are not amazing suddenly the manager is crap and its another stick to beat the chairman with???? FFS give the guy and his new team a chance!! Ok so a sizeable number of you on here don't like the chairman, yes we get that but we don't need to hear you continually hurling abuse in his direction and certainly not blaming him for an appointment that is so recent. Just because Alty were once the best in non league doesn't mean we have any right to anything in the present day. If I was PP and got wind of how quickly some fans have turned on his new team and berate the chairman at every possible opportunity I'd be pretty pissed off and wouldn't hang around. Then where does it leave us? Get behind your team. Give the new manager SOME encouragement. If you must constantly criticize the chairman, create a forum thread and do it there. Let the supporters who want to have discussions about the team do so without this background of hatred for the chairman and almost zero tolerance of anything going wrong. Yes, things are really bad at Alty right now but running ourselves  down at every opportunity favours no-one. I know several fans are avoiding posting in the forum now as they get shouted down or branded "happy clappers" or whatever.

As an Alty fan of 45 years plus I find it incredibly sad to witness the decline  of recent times but Alty are MY team and I will continue to SUPPORT them. Nothing will ever get better without our support.

Rant over.

Col.

Let's just break down some of that post down shall we. Personally, I'm neither a happy clapper  nor did I boo yesterday. I've followed this club for 23 years.

Two years ago we had taken 9 points off Tranmere, Cheltenham and Grimsby. All that the fans are asking is that we COMPETE at this level - at least for gods sake. Been to all three games? We've not scored a goal in OPEN play in the lowest league we've ever played at. No one is expecting we go out every week and smash every team 6-0 but my god it's been a dreadfull opening 3 games and doesn't look to get better.

Something somewhere is wrong, and I'm afraid my own personal assessment is that the buck stops with Rowley. Yes the team was booed at the END of the game yesterday and there were shouts of Parkinson to sort it out but again, I reiterate, show me where anyone thought this would be a walkover EVERY week, most of those fans, myself included, have just watched 3 games of utter crap where we've not COMPETED. In fact, we played better at Nantwich with ten sodding men.

I refuse to berate the manager after 3 games but the team need to know this isn't good enough. Give them time? Ok, 10 games in? We've been told before time and time again managers need time, players need time, it'll sort itself out. No, no it won't- it needs addressing it's not good enough and I'm not prepared to "see us consolidate" at this level. We've just been relegated twice on the bounce and we haven't got time to be fannying around "working things out"

Frustrated?. Yes I am. Passionate? Yes I am.

Boo the player not the answer. Can clearly see the are giving there all.

No one was booed in the game. In fact, considering the circumstances the team got quite a bit of support

Matlock were a sh*te but organised determined side.

How is the league table looking after 3 games? Struggling to find the Big Time Charlie's from Altrincham, a massive club supposedly.

Oh look, second Bottom, welcome to the evo glue league, your just another nothing club from the 7th tier of Football in England.

Still you could always re introduce segregation at home games, that might make you feel important.

You've just been smashed at home and you're on fans forum from a team you played last week.

Weirdo

How did Taylor do? And Sheridan when he came on? Couldn't really tell from RR.

Passed him by. Didn't do anything of note. Moult on the other hand...

Sheridan tried getting it forward and had a decent shot tipped over in injury time

We played hundreds of pre season games yet we are awful defending corners and still don't look nowhere near a "team"

Their keeper was knackered - two decent shots at him all second half, the second being from Sheridan in injury time.

I'm no billy big bollocks but if we can't attract a STRIKER to this club in this league who can put the ball in the net - we might as well give it up.

10 games in is the marker for me.

Two years ago we took 3 points off Grimsby 😡

Battled well. Finally JJ cut in and ran into the box, boom penalty. Can't really complain getting a point away from home having played 3/4 of the game with 10 men. We need to score when on top, as has been the case both games in opening 10/15 mins.

Their keeper has made some decent stops.

JJ is found out after 10 mins - game over then- that's it

Hannigan - for gods sake

Moult and Richman a lot better

Nantwich are a tidy outfit and for the second game running we look powder puff

You're on a yellow, the referee is clearly playing by the rules and giving no leeway, nothing area of the pitch, jumps like that - shocking. I hope he gets ripped a new one by the other players

The only thing that could have made yesterday worse would be if the manager said that we played really well and created 7-8 chances.  And now he has.

I like Phil Parkinson but I beg him please please please don't go down the route that Doughty went down in telling people that sh*t/moderate things are really good.

Tried to collect my thoughts after yesterday before posting.

Firstly I'd like to congratulate Stafford on a superb away performance, nullify the opposition then pick them off.  Executed brilliantly.

In my opnion, we were not absymal yesterday but we had a of the ball and did nothing with it.  7-8 chances?  I saw three pea rollers and a couple of long shots where the player leaned back at 45 degrees before shooting.

A 3-0 home defeat to an average side can't be anything other than poor can it?

We've dodged a bullet many times with our stewarding.  Some Stafford fans were a disgrace today, completely classless, however why were they not asked to leave?  You can't be singing and intimidating in any pub can you without being asked to drink up and go on your way.  If I went into Staffords bar signing "you're going down like a f**kin' lead balloon" over and over again I'd expect to be ejected or smacked.  Just enjoy your day...

Why are people alllowed in who cannot stand up coming off a coach?  No stewards outside again but 3 on the inside of the turnstiles?  How many times does it have to be said?  Some should not have even been let in.

A truly horrible day.

If they had edged it 2-1 then fair enough, these things happen and this is Alty we are watching but a 3-0 home defeat is nothing but poor.  I back him to sort it but the first thing he has to do is be real about it.

Well said Mark. Completely agree. Nothing more frustrating than dressing that up as anything but poor. I'd have more respect for him if he said said that rather than how well we played and how we kept the ball and how we were missing key players. Make Moss Lane horrible to play at? I'm sorry but that starts at the very top with the chairman and what was allowed to happen yesterday. Stafford were given the run of the ground and the team did the business in the pitch. Bet they jumped on the coach home delighted. I'm no big billy bollocks but we've got to get this right and get it right PDQ.. starting with 6 points from the next two games.

No one would've possibly picked Faulty Alty....

Spoke to him on Twitter a few months ago, thoroughly decent chap. Still can't believe that goal at WHL. Was cheering and celebrating for a eternity. Seem to recall someone saying Francis was berating the liner at the time.

Bet he treating it as bonus as well, getting paid every week for doing f**k all

Same with Hannigan as well

Hold on a minute, I think you're being extremely harsh here. You can't just choose as and when as a club to pay your players. Also factor in the equation Miller was probably still required to turn up to training/ see the pyhsio etc.

I presume you'd expect to be paid by your employer(and or, the governments benefit for long term sick)  if you became ill etc and couldn't work?
