We should have looked into this. Some player to drop that quickly. He could always do a Clayton/Potter at Leek
Yesterday was his 32nd birthday.ALTY OLD BOY
The NPL reports that former Alty loanee Ryan Shotton has signed forms for Leek Town. (John Laidlar)
Surely he can do better than that, especially as Mullarkey will be out for a while!
How old is he now?
It would be irresponsible not to with so many teams falling behind schedule already - but I suppose it depends on the authorities.Just how elite does any team need to be. Dover fan thought we played the ball about like Brazil. Moving any already arranged Tuesday fixtures to next Saturday would seem common sense.
Premier league will continue, but will we be able to play during the latest shambles?nor Hartlepool with their win at all costs philosophy ☺ ☺ ☺ ☺ ☺
Do we count as "Elite*"
*Not sure Dover do with their behaviour today!
Agree... the govt approach i believe is wrong...regarding MANCHESTER United they informed season ticket holders that they had put a proposal forward to the government pre October with how they could accommodate 23,500 fans from the then proposed restart date of October 1. The plan outlined how match operations would function moving 23,500 into the stadium, during the match, and exiting the ground whilst observing covid related legislation. They invited the government to challenge any point they were not happy with. Upshot is, they got a simple NO. No fault found and no feedback offered. The government invited premier league clubs to forward their plans for consideration. Said plans submitted and rejected with no constructive criticism. Sound familiar?
I understand why say cannot have 76,000 crammed into Old Trafford (or big stadia of top clubs), but whilst teams like United can at present maintain losses of circa £5mill per game due to no fans (according to BBC) the smaller clubs lower down the football pyramid struggle as rely on fans and if crowds under 5,000 (or in our case maybe circa 1,500) then surely clubs can work with this figure - especially if even lower down the non-league ladder crowds of 200-400 are allowed...
I also appreciate that if there was no Prem footy then fans of say United, City, Liverpool, etc may seek their footy fix by then going to Alty (if we allowed fans) thus swelling our potential crowds to maybe 3,000... but still we could surely cope...
I personally feel fans (upto say max 3,000 - 5,000) should be allowed at matches involving Division 1 & 2 of EFL and ALL non-league clubs to help clubs survive & let fans enjoy football which in the modern Covid world is a great escape and good for mental health & wellbeing... i know the govt has given monies to help clubs like Alty to hopefully prevent any more clubs going out of business, but the govt also needs to think of wellbeing of fans too...
Even if limited Alty to say 500 - 1000 capacity (maybe season ticket holders & then residual via online tic purchase) then surely 1000 fans in outside fresh air (with mask) is far safer than some indoor events we've all seen in papers or on news where up to 10,000 been allowed indoors with masks on...
Whatever figure Alty or lower league/non-league clubs were allowed (this was calculated at start of season on 15% or 30% of capacity before govt changed rules) it would help clubs and their fans wellbeing/health just to have the escape of football to take our minds off the nightmare of Covid issues...
I believe a petition that raised over 200,000 signatures about all clubs letting fans back into grounds is due to be discussed by the govt of Nov 9th in Parliament - hopefully something may happen there... but not holding my breath...
Anyway, maybe all irrelevant as looks like we are probably going back into Nationsl Lockdown again next week... ☹️
We’re fine. I think Brian telling their steward to ‘shut your f**king mouth’ after he pulled leads out of his computer to try and stop us broadcasting was his finest moment, of many.priceless. absolutely priceless 😃 😃
They do seem minimal!perhaps being done with their coats over their heads. For pity’s sake this is unbelievable.
I expect team will be asper above...November could be season defining for Alty. If all 6 games escape covid intervention here’s hoping for a spell of dry weather. Heavy pitches don’t suit our style of play.
Hoping game goes ahead as lotta rain around...
If game is played i predict a one goal victory too...
2-1 to Alty...
After today's game we have 5 of next 6 games in November at home so can hopefully start to climb the table... 🤞
From the main site: "Following discussions between the government & the Football Association on September 29th, the FA explained that where elite and non-elite clubs are playing, only supporters of non-elite clubs will be permitted entry, and only if their club is at home."”Government Makes Crazy Covid Statement” is no longer news. I always have the TV remote close to hand in case any of the clowns appear. The virus sits in at the governments covid meetings and is briefed as to what it can and can’t do. Absolutely farcical.
if it was due to travelling or capacity I could understand (up to a point), but due to the level we play at just makes no sense.
Is the virus now selective about the clubs fans support?
According to his Facebook post, Toby has fractured his ankle.Groan. Not what we wanted to hear. Get well soon Toby.
Horrendous news and bad luck.
Details of a new loan signing on the official club website.can I be one of the first to say what a great signing. The song possibilities are endless.
I think Hanks has really suffered more than most with Hulme's departure. Nothing we can do on that score. He'll adjust. Sooner will be the better. We need him firing on all cylinders.Thompson

As long as Kossy and Hancks are disciplined enough, it could work.
Could get Hanks on the ball a bit more too, which is probably what he needs right now. Decent enough idea.
They were quite entitled to refuse to move it.if they are asking alty I wouldn’t give them the courtesy of a reply. Just piss them about.
Be interesting what response they get when they request a move
what a thoroughly nice chap. If Carragher and Neville are talking about it perhaps enshrine it in law. Thank god we’ve got Parky who is obviously a member of the civilised human race.
Dave Challinor responds to pre-match criticism aimed at Hartlepool United by Altrincham boss Phil Parkinson
Dave Challinor has defended Hartlepool United’s decision to turn down Altrincham’s request of pushing their National League fixture back 24 hours.

Pools played out a 1-1 draw with Alty on Tuesday evening, just over 48 hours after the newly-promoted club were knocked out of the FA Cup at AFC Fylde.
Robins boss Phil Parkinson said in the build-up to the game at Victoria Park he was disappointed with Pools’ attitude but accepted it was their “prerogative”.
"It was a little bit disappointing in terms of their attitude not to move the game to a Wednesday with what we’ve been through but that is their prerogative to stick to a Tuesday and make it difficult for us, we will certainly remember those types of things moving forward,” said Parkinson on Sunday afternoon.
“When everybody is facing this epidemic you expect football clubs to stick together, Fylde were top drawer in moving the fixture, realising the situation we were in and we appreciate that.
"I wish them all the best, they look favourites to win promotion. They are doing everything right to move in the right direction.
"It is absolutely Hartlepool’s prerogative not to change but it is slightly disappointing with the current climate and what everyone is facing.”
Challinor was honest in his response, admitting self-interest does play its part.
However, the 45-year-old believes it is the same for every club – citing a debate on Monday Night Football between Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher.
“Regardless of what anybody says, everybody is going to look at self-interest,” he told The Mail, when asked about Parkinson’s pre-match comments.
"For us, we’ve got a big game on Saturday on the TV versus Torquay. We’ve then got to travel to Barnet on Tuesday. We then go to Salford in the FA Cup and we’ve got to travel to Yeovil and Eastleigh.
“There was a good debate on Monday Night Football. It’s easy for people to say they would have done this and they would have done that.
“Again, if I want to be pointing the finger, Fylde were accommodating but they weren’t very accommodating for us. Not everybody is looking after each other.
"As Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville said, people were all feeling sorry for Wigan when they had the problems they had but it didn’t take very long for clubs to be taking their players for next to nothing.
“Listen, everybody will have self-interest. My job is to get the best out of the group of players and work for this football club, which I will continue to do.
“I’ve got to look at us and unfortunately if that gets in the way of other people then so be it.”
