It is a cracking start. Hopefully others will soon follow...

Agreed. This model will never support full time football. This is why the sh*t will eventually hit the fan again...

My Southport friends are surprised he (Howson) was released. Maybe he wants part time football now?

Bad news for Trafford though unfortunately. I'll be at the Bamber Prescott final - very very evenly matched teams.

We need two more strikers - Hardy and Newby would be awesome.
On what I saw at Buxton, Hardy is overrated.

Hulme, Shaw and Hardy were the best number 9s in the Evostik. Whether or not any of them would adapt to the higher level is of course debatable. I'd give a little shout for Jordan Cover at Atherton Colls, but not sure if his work commitments would make it difficult.

Any released Salford lads would only come here if the money is right though. Being able to tempt them to Moss Lane rather than Stockport, Southport or Chester will be quite a challenge.

Taking nothing whatsoever from the players/management, we won a league we should never have been in in the first place. However, Toff Apple makes an excellent point about setting the foundations in place for next year. For me, that has been the real achievement.

Impossible to name a motm today, unless you include their keeper, who was bloody brilliant. All our lads turned up and put a shift in. Surely Hampson has played centre half before? Neither he nor Tom Hannigan ever looked like they were in any danger at all. Ringo was top notch, as were both Merrie and Harrop when he came on (never realised Max was that fast). Some of the performances today have given the boss a headache for next season. They all looked very comfortable. A great day and a great performance on a dreadful pitch. Good ref too btw.

Really tough match, but we'll get what we need to get.

Couldn't make it tonight due to work, but like every other bugger I expect, will be there on Saturday for the clincher.
A huge well done to PP, his staff, the team and all the fans, not just for tonight but for all season. We should all try and make it to Grantham, (whether pro or anti board), to show our massive appreciation to the lads.

Can't help but feel that Shaw will approach this game more cagily than people think. 4 points behind Farsley with 2 games in hand and a better goal difference. They might just feel that they are more likely to win against someone else than us. What they can't afford to do tonight, is lose.

Would have Hampson at left back (if fit). Hardly any options now unfortunately.
I think we'll win tomorrow and one way or another, Saturday will be the day...

Very bad news about Jones, but a decent point. Hopefully Hampson back for Shaw. Sounds like Shaw had another very bruising encounter at Warrington tonight, so that's good at least. Fingers crossed.

I saw them get comprehensively outplayed by an admittedly very strong looking Matlock team a fortnight ago. Having said that, that fame apart, their results have been pretty impressive lately. A draw would be okay.
