Altrincham FC First Team / Hereford back for next season
« on: February 24, 2015, 04:02:08 PM »
Just been sent this...

Herefordshire Council has given a short term lease to Hereford Football Club to bring football back to Edgar Street.

Hereford United had been wound up in December over tax debt.

HEREFORDSHIRE COUNCIL PRESS RELEASE

"The council has agreed a lease with Hereford Football Club today, Tuesday 24 February 2015. The agreement and lease are subject to contract and solicitors final comment.

The Hereford Football Club group, led by Jon Hale has successfully negotiated the short term lease to run from March 2015.  This means that the club can be registered with the Football Association in time to ensure that Edgar Street sees football back at the ground in time for the 2015/16 season.

Cllr Tony Johnson, leader of Herefordshire Council said, "We are delighted to announce Hereford Football Club as the new tenants for the ground.

The last few months have been fraught; there has been great uncertainty over the future of the ground and I am personally extremely pleased that we have been able to put an end to that uncertainty.

We hope that the historic supporters of the club will welcome the news and support Hereford Football Club with the same passion and fervour as Hereford United."

Giving their reaction to this news, Jon Hale, from Hereford FC, and Chris Williams, Chairman of Herefordshire United Supporters Trust (HUST) who are the key partner in the new club, said:

"We are very pleased to have reached an agreement with Herefordshire Council for a short term lease to allow Hereford FC to become the new tenants at Edgar Street.

As a partnership we'd like to thank the local authority for its commitment to seeing football continue at this historic, much loved stadium and we look forward to building a strong relationship with our landlord as the club moves forward."

Altrincham FC First Team / Ebbsfleet in baked bean shocker
« on: April 04, 2013, 08:52:48 AM »
The Ebbsfleet manager, Liam Daish has just been on 5 live. They've only just got back from Barrow after last night's game - because kick off was delayed by a baked bean spillage.

Barrow clinched an important point against Blue Square Bet Premier relegation rivals Ebbsfleet. Kick-off was delayed by 90 minutes as the Ebbsfleet coach was delayed by a baked bean spillage on the M6. Ebbsfleet saw Nathan Elder sent off late on following an incident with Garry Hunter. It capped a miserable evening for the Kent side, who were held up by the motorway incident during their 300-mile trip to Cumbria. The Fleet are now 10 points adrift in the relegation zone with a game in hand on most of the teams above them, while Barrow edged to within a point of safety

Motorists faced severe delays on the M6 after a lorry crashed and shed its load of baked beans onto the carriageway. The lorry hit the central reservation on the southbound carriageway of the motorway between junctions 22 and 2,3 near Newton-le-Willows in Merseyside. The crash happened just before 11:00 BST, blocking two lanes of the motorway in both directions. The motorway was closed for 15 minutes as the vehicle was moved, the Highways Agency said.
One lane remained closed in each direction at 17:00 BST on Wednesday, and further lane closures were expected to take place overnight while repairs to the barrier are carried out.
