Exeter fans actually handed us a card on Saturday and had a bucket collection which they handed over at half time to members of the supporters trust. They also gave us the bucket which they consider a lucky omen as it was used to collect money when they were in the same situation not so long ago. Lump in throat moment  :'(

Why not hand the bucket over to Mike Connett.....and then hope that he kicks it?!

Seriously, Blackie, do you have any faith in the supposed 'Consortium'.....or would you truly prefer a fresh start, admittedly in a lower league but which would at least be a Connett-free environment?

The term 'shyster' could surely have been coined to describe Mister Connett.

Even when they were doing well during the early years of the Alliance Premier League, I don't recall Vics ever having an average home gate of circa 1,500.

Has he never thought that cutting overheads/costs/wages in line with their home crowds might be the answer?

Does anyone else wonder just who these characters are behind this consortium and exactly what their motives for getting involved are?

If, God forbid, I was a Vics supporter, I honestly believe that my preferred outcome would be for NVFC to be wound up by the Inland Revenue and then for the Supporters Trust to form a new club at a lower level of the Non-League structure, which would entail the blissful prospect of severing all links with this blundering egomaniac.

I bet the Kendal lads are already discussing who they are going to swop shirts with at the end of the game...

That the beauty of the FA Cup..

Well, at least Chris Senior and Peter Wright should have the same size shirt....

They have their very own version of Kendal Mint Cake, just for sale at the football club and made by the famous Romney confectioners.  Are you planning a trip or shall I just bring some back for you if you're going to be a lazy lump and stay at home and watch it on t'internet?

That all sounds extremely tempting!

I do hope to be able to attend the match at Kendal Town.

Just need to make sure that I can get home in time to then head off to see the magnificent Arcade Fire at the MEN Arena....

Even we're not unlucky enough to get Tammy away, surely? I quite fancy Kendal Town away. Nice day out.

Drawing Kendal Town would at least ensure that Alty would get some coverage in The Observer.

They are the team that are currently being followed by that Sunday newspaper in one of those 'Road To Wembley' features.

Today's issue contains a feature on their victory over Woodley Sports yesterday, during which that diminutive former Alty forward Peter Wright scored two goals.

The radio report just then sounded fairly low key.

Did you also hear Dalton Steele bellowing in the background?!

I've just spoken to Martin Hanchard and, alas, have to report that he is also carrying an injury and, therefore, is unable to participate in next Tuesday's match.

I am in love....

**scans sponsors list for Tuesday**

Don't bother, Ecky.

She told me that she only goes out with men who still have all their own teeth....

James Dean?

That big ex-Clitheroe and Vics centre forward?

At least he's a Giant!

(Obscure reference for film buffs..... I do apologise).

I've got to be honest, if ever the situation was reversed and I touch wood   ;) and pray to God it would never hapen, but if ALty when titis up like that I can't think of anything more depressing than then going to watch Vics in the conferefnce for the rest of the season, even if it was in a relegation fight.

Do you not think so?  :P

Ballers,

Have to concur with you on this one.

I have spent far too many afternoons and evenings loathing Vics to consider ever even watching them as a 'neutral'.
