Think Pasiek summed up our night, brilliant and times but gave the ball away too much.

Golden was superb at rb

Well, that has to go down as one of the more curious 4-0 Alty victories that I have had the pleasure of witnessing.

Maidenhead are certainly entitled to feel that the scoreline (though not the eventual outcome) was somewhat unjust, as they fashioned a few good chances during that first half.

Whilst the Robins did strangely contrive to concede possession far more than is customary during that opening 45 minutes, they exhibited a delightful utterly ruthless streak when any presentable goalscoring opportunities were created.

Three clinical strikes from Alex Newby, who became the second Alty player to record a first-half hat-trick this season. Lovely work from Osborne and then Golden to set up the opening goal, and some splendid play from Linney to engineer both the third and fourth goals.

It highlights just how far the club has progressed in recent years that a 4-0 win at this level no longer counts as a surprise. Several seasons ago, such a resounding triumph would have prompted an outbreak of dancing on the tables and unbridled cartwheeling in the Noel White Suite (and that was just from the late and much-missed George Heslop).

We've endured plenty of bitter experience of watching us being patted on the head by (southern) teams in this division in distant times, so how heartwarming it was to see us in the ascendant.

Great summary......nothing more true than the comment about being patted on the head by Southern teams. Getting done over by the likes of Canvey Island and hearing their managers in the NWS telling our fans how poor we were is a particular lowlight of those seasons in the mid 2000s constantly looking at how many points we would need to finish out of the bottom four.
