Solihull Moors
« on: October 09, 2024, 11:09:44 AM »

Looking forward to this.Just hope we can get some good luck in the FAC for once and make some progress.
Recent years have been so disappointing, some of it down to poor luck when it comes down to the ties being drawn.
I think we will beat Solihull, but could do with another home tie after that. Third Round ties are a distant memory for the club,if ever any team deserves a run, it is us. Chesterfield/Chelsea, Burton/Manchester United springs to mind. You cannot underestimate the impact of such ties.

Interesting to see what the team will be. Kosylo lively last night and surely Crawford will be back. We even got penalty practice.

Honestly, the history books are due for an upset. We've not been to the first round for 3 years and Solihull have been in the hat for the first round 8 years in a row.

Expecting to see Osbourne and Wilson in the middle of midfield.

There is no deserving a run in the FA Cup, there is earning one. But I also think this squad is more than capable of earning a run...
Plus if we're really lucky all we need to do is draw Birmingham in the next round away and we've cut out two games and still got the gate money.

Didn't Crawford go off injured last night? Unsure if Bickerstaff can play, and also if Humbles has gone back to Salford yet.

Really hope Crawford starts. Last saturdays debacle was a big part down to him missing.

Too much to hope for a Baines return i reckon.

Would take another poor performance for the win.

Alty 2-1 Solihull

Alas, I think that Baines would have needed to have participated in last evening's kickabout in order to be a realistic contender for Saturday's line-up.

Solihull's away record gives me the shivers.....

I'm not sure that Bickerstaff hasn't gone back to Wales.

Why is this club always so reluctant to share information with the fans?

Come Jan it will be 30 years since our last 3rd Round appearance , it's 9 years since we had a League club at ML. The competition may well be devalued these days but oh how we've missed those magic cup days from the previous 20 + .

Why take off your best attacking players? Justin should have been off before half time.

Baffling substitutions and a completely insipid display. Did we have a shot in the second half?
Need to see the Crankshaw booking again though.

I counted one shot on target - the penalty.

Why did Crankshaw not shoot rather than dive/invite the foul for a penalty?

Attack wise thie season has been awful. We have many attacking players but show no threat. Something has to improve. What us wrong with them all? We don't have enough shots. What is the master plan that I'm missing? Worrying

Up front is indeed a major worry. Does anyone know if Jake Bickerstaff is still at the club? We are toothless.

We are ok until we score, then it?s if a message is sent to stop going forward and protect what we have. Regan needs to stop getting booked then he gets hooked in case he gets another card. Justin didn?t seem at all interested. Forwards need to shoot when in a good area instead of taking the easy option of passing.
A very frustrating afternoon after a good start.
