Sittingbourne havent lost in 28 games i hear

Yes, they are a real threat based on confidence alone. Them away would be horrible.

I think from this stage, every team is dangerous (especially away) and will be going full strength.
Of playoff contenders only us and Rochdale survive with the others seemingly seeing it as a distraction.
We're there to be shot at, but on the other hand we'll be well down the list of sides the others would choose to be drawn against.

I think that's essentially what I was proposing.

Being able to build new hospitality facilities elsewhere in the ground would solve much of the away problem as we could just give them the family stand in its entirety - including the interior facilities. Most teams in this league bring a following that would fit into that section (capacity 190 I think?), meaning the actual away end could stay open to home fans.

We could even build a bit of a stand where the refreshment facilities are situated currently, to double that capacity over (with a barrier where the substation is).

As long as we get them at home, we should have no excuses - just like Southend don't.

If FGR did give it a go at Oxford then it just goes to show there's no easy game from this stage onwards.

We do NOT want Sittingbourne. I said as much before the draw last time, and Southend appear to have proved my point. Big physical team, efficient defence, ability to score on the break.....exactly the banana skin we need to avoid!

9/4 favourites to win it with Bet Victor

Largely depends on the luck of the draw from here on in. You could make a case for all 5 sides in our league winning it. The bonus from this round was both FGR & Southend being unexpectedly eliminated. Have to see what tomorrow brings. Odds of us being at home for the 4th round in a row must be slim but fingers crossed?.

I don't think FGR were ever bothered, they'd just had some easy ties up to this point that their second string had managed to get through. Southend, however - they haven't really got the league to go for, were they playing a strong team? Sittingbourne do feel like a really tricky banana skin - but at this stage we should really consider any home draw as a good one.

Any three of the southern National League sides away would be a disaster really - at least Rochdale would be a top occasion at either ground, but getting them further down the line might be better.

FGR Season ticket holding friend of mine (it?s tough- I live in the Cotswolds and they don?t have much choice locally) said they put a strong team out and it was definitely first choice XI by the end as they through everything at it. Apparently their final ball was just rubbish all afternoon

WRT the away end, there?s no denying it must be amongst the worst in the division. The view is v good if no more than about 500 on there tbf but the lack of a roof, proper toilets & booze for away fans all a big downer. If it is the most cost effective way to generate more revenue in the short term then putting a roof on & working out how to sell beer to away fans on there seems a plan. With seats too then the whole of the community stand goes back to being home fans only too.

Been done to death on here but obviously the hotch potch & crumbling state of the ground cannot go on for too much longer. Serious dough would be required of course to maintain the current levels on the pitch & take us forward off it. We shall have to see what the future brings.

Osbournes corners were woeful and Newbeys not much better.
Our corners have been bobbins for at least 5 years.
Sadly the ?James Lawrie Textbook of Abject Cornertaking? is still in the Moss Lane Library.
