Non Altrincham FC Talk / Ray Sant - Distance Traveller
« on: December 15, 2024, 09:01:34 PM »
Hi, this is Jan, Ray?s wife. I am sad to say, that Ray passed away this morning in our local Hospice.  He was very peaceful and surrounded by his family. He asked me to post on here, so that you guys would be aware of what had happened. Sorry to be the bearer of sad news.

A great draw after being behind for most of the game it must have felt like a win for both the team and fans. The lads are a resilient set of blokes and showed a creditable determination.  Well done one and all.

Don?t need him back here as he is an admin nightmare waiting to happen. The lad obviously needs help. Such a shame for a talented player,

You just can?t keep doing this Ryan Lad.

Unfortunately Ryan is up before the beak again.

What has he  allegedly done this time for goodness sake?

Baines was replaced by Jones because he had cramp and couldn't continue. We kept the back four. Reddin was replaced by Golden because he took a knock. It wasn't a change to a back five to see it out, if anything it was a straight swap with Golden pushing on. The bashing of the manager for making forced changes is so, so weird.

If all that is the case then that's fine. I wonder how you know this though?
I would never bash Parky after all he's done for us but I've only seen exasperation on here.

I wasnt there

If u were there then you know how it went which is fair enough..

I don?t usually comment on games I haven?t been to for obvious reasons.

There is too much supposition on here sometimes, having said that, I suppose everyone has the right to comment.

I get frustrated after games and unless we have a good win then I tend to leave it for a day to try not and give a knee-jerk reaction.

We go again on Saturday

The lad did well on his debut, Crawford was also a candidate for MotM.

We are ok until we score, then it?s if a message is sent to stop going forward and protect what we have. Regan needs to stop getting booked then he gets hooked in case he gets another card. Justin didn?t seem at all interested. Forwards need to shoot when in a good area instead of taking the easy option of passing.
A very frustrating afternoon after a good start.

He impressed me on Tuesday....he was subbed late on....for a young player, he looked mature and of 'robust' build.....Parky must have rated him

Blackburns No3 had a very good game as well

On a completely different subject now and back to the club, we have loaned Centre Back Charlie Olsen from Blackburn and extended Liam Humbles loan by a further month.
Sounds like good business. Humbles impressed me. Can't recall the Rovers lad TBH

Think he played centre back for Rovers last Tues.

Honestly, the history books are due for an upset. We've not been to the first round for 3 years and Solihull have been in the hat for the first round 8 years in a row.

Expecting to see Osbourne and Wilson in the middle of midfield.

There is no deserving a run in the FA Cup, there is earning one. But I also think this squad is more than capable of earning a run...
Plus if we're really lucky all we need to do is draw Birmingham in the next round away and we've cut out two games and still got the gate money.

Didn't Crawford go off injured last night? Unsure if Bickerstaff can play, and also if Humbles has gone back to Salford yet.

I'm not sure that Bickerstaff hasn't gone back to Wales.
I thought he was here until Jan 25

783 Scabs say's an incredible amount about our fanbase. No wonder our attendances are down again this season, the games aren't free enough.

I decided to go in the end tonight. Everytime I watch Alty at home it is a 130 mile round trip we are season  ticket holder and have been watching Alty for more years than I care to remember.

Do not call me a Scab You T**t.

I've considered the likes of Dave Furnivall and Darren Royle, but I have to say that Joe Nuttall is the poorest striker I've ever seen in an Alty shirt.

Joe is much better than Darren Royle

If I had started today I would have been better than Royale ffs

Joe has come on as a sub in the last two games and has played well. Don?t be too harsh on the bloke

Our keeper was very good tonight. If German hadn?t got sent off for a silly foul then we may have beat them.
Fair dos to Kev Ellison still good at 45 years young. If you have got it you never lose it. Good luck to Vauxhall motors.
