agree with all other comments, great turn out by Alty fans and made ourselves heard.

Would have taken a point before the game, shame it was an error that got Oldham out of jail. Parky and Sorvs have some big decisions to make there in the GK area, crucial we get tit correct for the run in. Shame Matty let us all down, he would have been good to bring on.. Other injuries worry me, were getting far too many again. Now have Ross, E Jones, Crankshaw, Marriott (but appeared to be warming up), Wilson, anyone else I missed.

Randle is the other injured player.

I believe Bickerstaff is still with us until mid-month as things stand, but I think Kosylo will be out.

Reddin or Weaver to start on the right wing, or we might stick a midfielder in 10 and put Alex Newby there.

Weaver is Trophy-tied.

Correct. The loan runs till the middle of January.

I thought Olson was a left-sided CB? If so, I would imagine it's him or Baines on the left, Jones or Cooper on the right.

I don't think he's a leftie, unless I've missed it?

The wind forecast is horrendous - it's going to be a real challenge for the players to try and handle.

At least they're going to freeze on the away end!

He looks a leftie here. And John Laidlar's report of his loan mentions that he "made his Alty debut as left-sided centre-back against Solihull Moors in the FA Cup on 12 October 2024." Having said that, he played alongside Baines in the replay and at home to Gateshead.

Sadly I suspect there's one or two miserable gits almost relishing one of our lads pulling up with an injury in this competition.
We lost Crankshaw in the first game until the end of Jan at least. I don't think anyone was very happy about it. Some did seem to ignore it though.

Crankshaw came on as a sub on the Saturday after the Blackburn game, so not sure how you've worked out that was the game he got injured in (particularly given the discussion on the other thread).

The reason the PL managers are more open about injuries is because they have no choice. They're faced with journalists who aren't affiliated with their clubs asking them questions about it before every game. So it may be that some PL managers would like to be as secretive as PP but don't get the chance. Similarly if we had regular press conferences with the MEN etc, we'd no doubt have to follow suit.

For what it's worth, I don't agree with the club's policy on this. Any competitive advantage that we might gain is for me outweighed by the alienating effect it has on the fans. I suspect though that Phil doing regular injury updates on Radio Alty may a compromise of a sort, to get the info out there to the hard core without tipping the wink to the opposition.

PP mentioned on Radio Alty that Haygarth has had an ongoing back injury.

The lack of injury updates is not a comms issue, it comes from PP himself because he wants opposition managers to have as little info about player availability as possible. I suspect that's why he's happy to talk about these things on Radio Alty - he doesn't think his opposite numbers will track it down there when they obviously would if it was on the club website.

Sorry but that's bollocks. Why would any team in our league give a monkeys that Max Haygarth has a bad back? He's not bloody Pirlo ffs

I'm not sure what exactly you think is bollocks but PP specifically said that this is why the club doesn't tell fans about injuries on one of the LoyAlty Zoom calls.

Surely we can't be moving Regan Linney to the wing?
He scored a first half hat trick from there against Fylde.

More concerned our only keeper with senior experience is missing.

Will the club ever make injury information public or do we still hold weird beliefs it benefits us in some way?

PP has specifically said that he doesn?t like the club sharing info on player injuries because he thinks it helps our opponents. I don?t agree with the club?s policy on this but that?s why we?re kept in the dark about all that.

I believe Ross has a chest infection, so hopefully he?ll be ok for next Saturday.

The midfield decisions are going to be really difficult for PP. Wilson, Humbles (if still around) and Crawford have all been terrific but I recall the effectiveness of Marriott/Osborne last season, as well as Kosy's superb cameo at the weekend. Gonna be a might tough call for Parky.

It's probably been mentioned elsewhere (and I've missed it) but is the young Blackburn centre back still around?

Olson's loan was till the end of November but I believe he's injured and I suspect we won't see him again, in this loan spell at least.

I wonder what happened to Connor Teale?

PP mentioned in his interview that Amaluzor's had a 'slight knock' but both he and Crankshaw could be involved on Saturday.

I'd bring Banks back in and leave out Eddy Jones, who's not quite got going this season yet.

I'm not sure but I think Humbles's loan spell may have ended? If so, I'd bring Wilson back into a more normal CM position - he played in a more advanced role at Solihull and it didn't suit him.

And Reddin struggled to get into the game last Saturday and looked like he could do with a spell out of the starting eleven.
