I?d imagine Nuttall would play the full game due to him not being able to play against parent club Oldham on the 11th

I'm missing something here... we're qualified unless Oldham win or Rochdale win. Regular time or penalties.

If they both lose the last two games we're in the next round. If that isn't the case I'll need someone with a maths degree to explain why.

How terrible is it? Having to rely on other teams who also could not give a flying f**k about getting through to not get through... sh*t the bed big time last night.

Also with note to the fact Parky is on board or pro this cup. I don't know what about his sly digs about the comp or yanking lads off after 15 makes you think he respects it in any way shape or form. He's as pissed about wasted minutes in legs as any other sane person is.

I was hoping we could have shut the door on this comp forever after last night and yet here we are. I can't wait for the club to continue to devalue our main product with free tickets to mid season friendlies... It's well good to see it, from a die hard perspective.

If Oldham and Rochdale both lose then the teams they play get the points. Oldham play Man United which will put them on 12 points and Rochdale play Wolves putting Wolves on 8 points with a better goal difference than us.

No maths degree here just a bit of football knowledge
What about if Rochdale lose on pens to Wolves?

No maths degree here, and you're clearly not as knowledgeable about football either... but thanks for chiming in.

Wilmslow Alty had already explained the Rochdale losing on penalties scenario at the top of page 2 of this thread so I didn?t feel the need to reiterate that point. I assumed your reading was a bit better than your maths but there we go. What?s with all the hostility anyway?

Bit of a stop start kind of game today I thought and overall a point was probably about right even though it?s tough to take the way it happened.

More negative subs costing us points though which is annoying. Taking a striker off for a defender by its nature means the other team will have more territory which brings more shots against you. FGR will probably win the league so it?s a decent point I just wish we were braver at home

Such terrible news. Thoughts are with Ray?s family and friends at this sad time. RIP Ray you?ll be missed.

Linney is on fire off the left, Nuttall is injured and Bickerstaffe is sh1t hence Weaver being the other option for me with him being more physical than Reddin. Linney will probably start as a 9 though. Olson will probably start too but I?d play Cooper and Baines at CB

                               Ross

Banks          Cooper          Baines           Golden

                  Wilson           Osborne

Kosylo                    Newby                  Linney

                            Weaver

Play on the front foot with a fast tempo for 90 mins and don?t sit off if we take the lead

I wholeheartedly believe we can?t win the league with him in charge. He?s not bold enough away from home and his in game management is very poor. Of course I hope I?m wrong but my head and my heart are conflicted on this

The National League North was uncharted territory for him - yet he got us out of it in two seasons.

With the exception of the first year full-time (and we downed tools after the Trophy defeat) we've improved season upon season.

Yes, the in-game management is so frustrating - bloody infuriating - but you could say that about most managers, including those at a much higher level.

He knows a thing or two about Sports Science, and we do tend to get stronger as we head into the spring - so I'm happy to calm down and trust the process.

I?m happy to let time run its course and revisit come the end of the season. I don?t think we will make the playoffs based on what I?ve seen so far this season. I?m more than happy to admit I was wrong if we do it but in my opinion we aren?t an improvement on last year and Parky has reached his level. Like I said I hope I?m wrong

They were poor at the back but our team selection suited them.
No idea why Parky keeps playing a CM in that ever so important 10 position.
We are not getting anywhere near enough points away from home.
He needs to take more risks, our tempo isn?t great away, often on the back foot.

Need to stick with Linney and Newby central, with two wingers, one of the wingers having pace ( Reddin, Amulazor or Weaver ).
I feel that was two points dropped.

This is why I?ve said in the past that we can?t win this league with Parky in charge. No doubt he will come out and say ?managing minutes? with the defence changing AGAIN! If all are fit then it?s Banks Cooper Baines Golden. All great teams over the years are built on a solid foundation. 1-0 to the Arsenal was created because they were so solid at the back. Fergie wouldn?t rotate Bruce, Stam, Ferdinand, Vidic (different eras). Mourinho had a solid and unchanged back 4 at Chelsea.

Scoring 3 goals in a game shouldn?t be seeing a 1 point return. Stop tinkering with the team

Parky is the reason we?ve gone anywhere near being promoted out of this league. What an odd thing to say. Managing minutes is what you have to do sometimes, we don?t have the budget to put out 2 first team squads like a Chesterfield or Wrexham did and even York don?t quite have that depth. They tried to do it against us and got turned over. Clearly every manager thinks it?s necessary or they wouldn?t do it.

I will respectfully disagree with you on that point. His in game management is appalling and if it was him that was so good would he need so many people to analyse the game and so many stats people behind the scenes. He?s a great man manager yes but it?s Sorvs with the tactical prowess
