Nicky Clee

Got to say I am well impressed with this fellow now.

I personally feel Nicky Clee has been our most improved player this season. Looked ok in first few games, but now he causes no end of problems to opponents. In particular with his dribbling of the ball and finding space around the opposing players with some great football, and deft footwork. That's two games on the trot where I feel he has turned in man of the match performances.

Everybody has really warmed to him over the last few weeks. Keep up the good work Nicky!!

Perhaps now he is getting a bit of a run the other players are getting used to him being there and his confidence is building.

I remember when Paul Showler left our defence kept sending balls to the left wing for about 6 months as if they'd forgotten he wasn't there anymore!

I am well impressed with Nicky Clee, he appears to have become a fans favourite.

He is a very decisive in what he does and doesn't have a weak point to his game!

I'm glad so many of you are coming back to the view of Nicky that I expressed early in the season !

Very useful player, neat footwork and that long throw is a handy weapon too.

Let's all remember how he played those first couple of games this season. People were getting on his back and have been proven wrong, so when new players come in next season let's give them time if they don't start brilliantly.

I have never see a player improve as much as Nicky Clee at alty, he was probably originally brought in to come on in the last 10 minutes to take the throw ins but now he can do skill, he can put in a good cross and, as he proved against Salisbury, he can produce something amazing!!

Another thing which impressed me was when he tried to collect a pass on the wing but was unable to cotrol the ball before it went out of play.

I shouted, 'Unlucky Nick' which he duly acknowledged with a wave of his hand.

I liked that.

A. Because I knew he heard me, as I wanted him to

B. Because you try and get things right but it does not always go that way.

C. Because I know he is doing his best and giving his all

D. Players prefer that to criticism, and I believe it helps confidence

E. Sometimes we see what players are trying to do, even if it does not come off ok

F. Shows the player is genuine and wants to do well.

G. I think he and the rest of the team are superb currently - I will take the rough with the smooth

H. He is part of a great side, the best I have seen for a few years

I. I will enjoy waiting to see how far this team can go.

Yeah, Nicky has come on leaps and bounds - great to see. He also says "thanks" to the ball boys/girls when they give him the ball.

Warren Peyton always used to do this as well.

About 19 times a match.

I was amused last night when in my attempt to unsettle the young keeper I shouted "I think you've gone to pieces a bit young 'un" and he turned round laughed and said "yes..."

At least he was honest!

I once told Ryan Price (keeper of Macc and formerly Stafford fame) that he was sh&t and he called me a w%&&ker.

It is nice when players acknowledge the fans.

Years ago when Woking had a good team. I gave their goalie, Lawrence Batty a hard time for the whole of the second half. He was getting really pi--ed off with me by the end of the game.. ;)
