It's not often you say this as an Alty fan but:

WE HAVE OPTIONS ON THE BENCH

(Not the low calorie choc drink!)

"45+3
Outswinging corner taken left-footed by Matthew Doughty from the left by-line."

and.....?
H/T ;D ;D

I think it was a World Cup finals match, Brazil v (I think) Sweden where one of the teams scored from a corner and a British ref (Thomas?) blew for full time between the corner being taken and the 'goal' being scored.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clive_Thomas
He also blew the final whistle seconds before Zico of Brazil scored what would have been the winning goal in a 1978 World Cup match against Sweden.[5] He was also strongly opposed to extravagant goal celebrations, going so far as to break up celebrations and order players back to their positions for the re-start.

According to my source at the game we have around 50 or 60 fans at the game and it is not segregated. Apparently their fans were being more than a little bit basic as we changed ends.

Definitely sounds like Tamworth!

Speaking of refs:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthur_Edward_Ellis

"Ellis became well known in the UK for acting as a referee in the gameshow It's a Knockout, where his dipstick became internationally recognised."

OOER!!

And from the BBC:

2048: They are getting back under way in tonight's other Champions League games, with the players presumably still reeling from the news that
Lucky, the world's oldest sheep, has died aged 23.
Well, you can only wrap them in cotton wool for so long.
