It is testament to Stuart's ability that when the initial shot went the entire team had total confidence Stu would make a brilliant save and then set up an Alty attack so the lot of them turned their back on the ball and got into attack positions.

If they were nervous about the keeper they'd have raced back to be first to the inevitable spill which is why the gateshead player was able to tap home.

I think Stuart did it on purpose to try and prove his is only human.

Only the true messiah denies his divinity!

Him an little are the first names on the sheet when fit.

It should be no other way.

I agree but it seems that if you point out a mistake it is assumed you are making a critical remark about the players future.  Do we live with a forum where no critisism is allowed.

At the end of the day, the criticism of Coburn was non-existent to begin with.

This whole thread is pointless.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Join us next week when we discuss why Greg Young should not be criticised for having mumps...

from my viewpoint, he should have saved it. Simple.

stu has been great for the club, over the last decade. This season he has made some truly stupendous saves and blocks. this is his first notable mistake. give the guy some credit for what he has achieved and support and remember stu has WON us more games we his saves that we have LOST with his mistakes.

It was a mistake - I was directly in line of the shot. He seemed to have it then just dropped it on landing on the ground.

To me the second Gateshead goal was worse as no one seemed to have any urgency in covering back.

HOWEVER - how many points has Stu saved for us?.... and we won anyway!
