the 70's/80's are gone. People dont need Moss lane for their football fix any more. Its not the same people who float in and out these days.

I think we're doing well. Crowds are no different to when we were average then good in the conf 15 years ago.

Our only hope is to get em hooked young.

and because of that people never get in the habit of going to live games. years ago i used to know several utd/city fans who would sometimes come to alty when their team wasnt playing. the big clubs are mainly season tickets now

The only ways to significantly increase our home crowds are:

1) Get the kids in
2) Have regular FA Cup runs
3) Do well in the Trophy/get to Wembley
4) Be in the top five in the BSP in April.

Anything else and people just don't take notice. I believe the club is doing everything it realistically can incentive-wise, we just need to do it on the pitch.

It can be done!  :)

I had lots of mates at school who did this.  That is also how I came to follow Alty as well.

I know you are right , it just disappoints me that people are so shallow these days. Altrincham was always a difficult town to get support being a bit upper and all, but I think we could do better. Demographically we are seriously similar to Wimbledon

Full time  0-0 not a bad result all things taken into consideration - and another clean sheet!

0-0 FT

Another point against a team flying high. Another few days pass without defeat or conceeding a goal, towards the healing of injuries.

Point taken.

I'm ok with that. Tamworth have started well, we are also doing better than we usually expect.

Of course if H had prepared the right sarnies it would have been 5-0 ;)

If we had got our lucky break in the late 70's/early 80's and achieved league status we could quite easily have achieved what they did given the momentum we'd built up. Sadly, where they went from strength to strength in the 80's we began to fade away.

Thats a good point. Well done lads!

Most of them have been to work after a long journey back up from Grays. Great effort to go out and keep a clean sheet.
