Sad news. Any Moss Lane regulars remember this guy? I only remember Frickley being very tough and a guy called Gary Hooley (firestarter  :P) getting goals for them. Good side they were, a strange by product of the miner's strike.

Sad indeed, I went to Dave Mossman's wedding via an ex, and he attended IIRC.

Sad news and scary too if you are in the same age bracket.

RIP.

Indeed very sad news, he was not much older than me. Probably saw Alty play against him a few times in his time at Frickley. R.I.P.

I think his elder brother played for Sheff Wednesday for quite a while didn't he? (Peter). I remember reading the programme notes for one Frickley game and, looking through the opposition pen pics noticed that Paul had played for Sheff Wed too. Was very worried that Frickley were getting some great players! He actually WAS excellent and I'm sure played for the Non-League England side a few times (although could be mistaken?)

I think you are right. I was confused as I was thinking of Peter.

Any loss at such an age especially is very sad.

Won 15 caps between 1986-93 while playing for Frickley, and later Boston United.
