This saturday, as I have been reminded by the 'through the years' column, is the aqnniversary of my worst ever moment as an Alty fan - getting beaten 0-6 at  South Liverpool.
Was very surprised it was 39 years ago!!!!

A win against Kiddie would make up for it all.
A win against Chester on Monday would leave me able to forget Holly Park completely!

As a youngish fan, I find this concept of 'South Liverpool' quite fascinating. Did they used to play in Garston in that minging auld ground I've been past once or twice? What happened to them, bankruptcy?

A real shame actually they struggled for years on poor gates but really suffered from constant mindless vandalism. Eventually they just gave up and closed. The ground used to be visible from the train.

I went there years ago as a young teenager, they were a friendly bunch as were Kirkby Town and Cammell Lairds. No Scouse/Manc issues there.

Having said that the time I went to Kirkby the gate was probably under 100!
