Obviously we're all bantering about top of the league/play offs etc and we should be realistic really.

However, it's worth enjoying the first 3 games of the season for all it's worth, regardless of whether the season turns to be good bad or indifferent.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the 1st 3 games of the 2002-03 Unibond League season.

NO DATE AT AGAINST (Click for match report) K/O RES ATT ALTRINCHAM SCORERS POS
1 17.8.02 H Harrogate Town 3.00 0-4 552   23
2 20.8.02 A Vauxhall Motors 7.45 0-4 315   23
3 24.8.02 A Hucknall Town 3.00 1-4 302 Talbot 61 23

How far away did 2nd in the Coneference tucked inbetween Luton Town and Oxford United seem in those darkest of days? Well done to everyone who kept the faith and kept this great club alive (properly alive too, not signed over and started again as iif nothing had happened).

Right, off for a trawl through the old forum...

We're doing brilliantly, I firmly believe we can finish top half this season.

We have no chance of challenging the leaders without an injection of cash. However, anything is possible. Burton were a nothing team. Two games against Manchester United later and they were £800,000 better off and gained promotion a couple of seasons later.

Let's enjoy actually having a chance of winning every game we play. Let's enjoy watching us attack rather than sit back and hope. Let's enjoy laughing at joke clubs like Jester City or Northsh*t sh*toria go tits up while they try to cheat by overspending.

This is the best time to be an Alty fan in many a year.

Goes against the grain to say it but Wigan have always had a much bigger fan base than us as long as I can remember. That was why it was extra sweet beating them when they were our league rivals (or one of them)

But going back to the original point, how much hard work has been done?

Absolutely love this as well.

Lets enjoy being at the top of the table as long as the lads can keep us there. Injuries etc will be our biggest foe, not the quality of our football.  :)
