Difficult to judge him on the basis of the handful of appearances that he made for us last season.

Anyway, our priorities surely lie in recruiting players for the midfield and attacking areas.

I only remember him playing against Farsley in the Setanta Shield - how many other appearances did he make?

Courtesy of the oracle that is John Laidlar:

Luke WATERFALL (d.o.b. 30 July 1990, height 6ft 3in, weight 13st 3lbs)

Luke was signed on a month's loan from Tranmere Rovers on 13 October 2008. He joined Rovers on a one-year contract from Barnsley in July 2008 having been a regular in the Yorkshire club's reserves. He had made two first-team appearances for Tranmere before arriving at Moss Lane. Luke was a substitute in the Carling Cup at Grimsby Town and started a Johnstone's Paint Trophy match against Accrington Stanley. Luke made his Alty debut in the Setanta Shield against Farsley Celtic on 13 October 2008 and his BSP debut as a late sub at Weymouth five days later. Following his loan, Luke returned to Prenton Park after playing in the CSC on 11 November 2008, having made three starts in cup competitions and one substitute appearance in the Blue Square Premier. Career appearances for Altrincham: 3(+1).

And therein lies a lesson. Never trust the wealth of pseudo facts and downright inaccuracies that is wikipedia.

Uncle Globnasty - spot on.  Question their "facts" and prove it with a real expert.

And surely we don't want Luke back do we?  He did nothing really (that IS a fact - I think).
