Marsh walks out of Northwich
« on: November 01, 2008, 06:24:07 PM »

By Andrew Simpson

MIKE Marsh has walked out on Northwich Victoria.

The stand-in boss, who has been in charge since the end of September, quit following today's home defeat against Eastbourne Borough.

"I've had enough," he said.

"I don't feel I can carry on at the club as manager with the situation as it is right now."

His reason was that if it wasn't going to be permanent he needed to carry on with his out of football commitments, which is fair enough.

Who's going to do it till then, did he have an asssistant?

Don't say that! We need to beat them on New Year's Day as well before they can go bust!

If we do beat them in both games and then they fold we would lose the points

If we beat the Vics twice and then they go bust. Then it won't be fantastic because we will lose 6 important points.

They really should be beating teams like us

Do not want to see Vics go bust. Derby matches are what it's all about.

I'd sooner they desperately cut costs and had a couple of years in BSN as punishment for being Green Slime. Actually wishing them out of existence seems a little harsh!

Wishing any team bust isn't cool. If Vics weren't there we'd miss them.

I think that is a minority view.

If they sat and thought I am sure they wouldn't.

I always  look forward to laughing at the dropping crowds, the ugly faces at the segregation, the last minute defeats, cocky Dino tending his roses, the disgusting green colour, huddling round a calor gas stove because the gas has been cut off, and thats just the office staff.

Wishing them out of business is bad form.

I think it's shocking to wish them out of business.

Much preferable to see them playing Vauxhall motors reserves, Christleton and their old foes Ellesmere Port Town in the West Cheshire League and us beating them annually by a cricket score in the CSC.

I'd much prefer them to be in the same league as us, unless relegation for them is unavoidable, in that case i'm happy we're above them.

Remember how crap it was when Runcorn was the closest we had to a derby game, or putting up with clowns from radcliffe and droylsden who thought it was a big derby game when we played them.

I hope they keep going, possibly even survive again. Christmas is great with those idiots around. However if Jim could fix it for me I would be happy to see them relegated if Macclesfield were also relegated and we of course stay up.
