Rushden in meltdown
« on: October 29, 2008, 12:04:21 PM »

"Club captain Andy Burgess, Curtis Woodhouse, Lee Phillips, Leon Knight, Lee Tomlin, Phil Gulliver, Sagi Burton and Dean McDonald have all been told they are no longer needed at the club."

Just most of the team then!

Do you think these idiots wait to see if they get a Cup run to bail them out, then if it doesn't materialise desperately try to cut costs? I've always hated Rushden anyway, trying to buy success. I hope they go down.

Some things never change...

Exactly the reason they messed up there own Football League status...

No sympathy for them at all!

To be honest getting sick of all these teams ending up the same way.

Again feel sorry for the fans but really it is getting pathetic.

Glad we have a director who has stuck to his guns on the philosophy of spend within your means.

With all these teams seemingly with no money and going in to administration and all that, at the end of the season there will be only one ot two of us left and they won't know whether to promote us, demote us or leave us where we are.
Thank goodness GG has stuck to his guns. I know we need to have more income to keep us where we are, but at least we are not spending money like it is water.

Leon Knight must be trying for a world record - 10 clubs by the age of 25 and counting

Still got some way to go before he beats Drewe Broughton - 16 clubs before he turned 30

I'm beyond caring about the plight of these clubs now, the Weymouth chairman is right, 90% of clubs in the BSP/BSS/BSN are run like this but most dont come clean until its too late. The only reason they do this is because there's some sort of desperation to be a 'big' club and they have to keep up with the rest.

For us its great, a more even playing field and a higher possibility of signing a few class players who prefer the safe, realistic option. We're climbing the table on merit, both on and off the field.

In a couple of years we could be a force again, who knows?

If we ever sign Daryl Clare he will still go and score against us by putting into his own net!

Who needs Daryl Clare when we have Colin Little. Mr Clare didn't get a sniff last time he played against us.

There aren't any, bar maybe woodhouse. There are a lot of footballers with a bit of talent who do not have the motivation, desire, self respect or ambition to be good footballers ( or in some cases any more).
