Can it be a more bizaar setup at vics? ::)
Northwich Victoria manager Dino Maamria has been told by the Blue Square Premier club that there is no more money available for transfers.
We've got 16 players and that's it. We're having a good pre-season but the league is different and 16 players isn't enough, I want to continue building.
"I'm ambitious and I want to move forward. When I sat down with the board at the back end of last season we agreed a certain budget and I was working well within that budget.
"I had enough money to bring in four players but now I've been told I can't bring any more in and I'm four players short."
To make matters worse, Maamria currently only has 13 :o of his 16-man squad available for action.

He could always draft in the Connetts.

I find the whole scenario hilarious.

Dont worry vics when you make your profits by getting average crowds of 2000 you will soon be able to afford more players.

See you at the AGM - if you indeed make it that far.

This is the man who finished second in the Manager of the Year competition last season and he can't even assemble a squad within budget.

I could be a top conference manager with an open cheque book, Maamria is just showing he has no real ability or nouse as a manager.

Two questions ;-

1.  If their available squad is so thin then why are they playing a friendly against Utd two days before the league season starts?

2.  I thought they had a massive squad as they seemed to be signing everyone?

If memory serves they were trying to and missing everyone.

Not to our friend Dino..... Offer smilair money as other clubs who get the same crowds and you can get more players... Easy Math !

It just highlights his lack of knowledge in my opinion.

He wants Stamp but the board (very sensibly) have said "no way, we can't afford him!" and the Seddon deal fell through for the same reason. Now he's stamping (no pun intended) his feet like a spoilt kid because he can't have what he wants.

I say fair play to the Vics board if they intend to stick to their guns on this issue. Let's see how Dippy Dino does on a tight budget, then we'll find out his real management credentials.

Indeed, by playing his awful tactics over Xmas/NY giving us 6 points. Instead of Darren Tinson playing the ball along the back when they are down to 9 men we will have Elam, Denham, Little, Johnson and Senior t*atting them !

Are they signing Stamp or not?  What's his status?  Are they just trying to get the money together to offer him a decent contract in order to keep him?

Also is he the one with the fat head that was on loan at Halifax?
