Similar to me then, good in goals, however got a good touch as an outfielder. Unfortunately we dont have a Richard Acton on our team...

Well, if the rest of Mike Crockett's report can be believed (!), the Alty team that afternoon was:

Matt Dickins
George Shepherd
Danny Adams
Paul France
Andy Brown (who was in The Railway pub in Hale last weekend watching the Weymouth v Alty match on Setanta, incidentally)
Jamie Taylor
Sammy Harris
Martin Faulkner
Nathan Comley-Excell
Ricky Harris
Keith Russell

Subs:
Stuart Coburn
Tony Kelly
Matt McNeil

Does anybody else remember Jamie Taylor? He was a really good little midfielder. I think we'd got him from Rochdale. He played dead well for us that season but iirc he got a bit arsey and billy big time and decided to leave Alty to further his career/get back in the football league.

It is not known whether he ever played at as high a level as the Unibond again!

Ballers,

Jamie Taylor was the 1997/98 Alty Player Of The Year.

Didn't he end up at Bangor City for some strange reason?
