Race Night
« on: April 07, 2008, 09:23:00 AM »

We are putting together all the final arrangements for Saturday evening's race night and 'Player of the Year' presentations, a big thank you to all those who have sponsored races and purchased horses. There are still two horses available, please ring the club if you would like one of them, £5 each. You will also need to provide a name for your horse too. Please can Daisy and Gary W ring the club with a name for their horses a.s.a.p. as I need to type out the race card which will be available on the night.
if you don't buy a horse, come along on the night and 'place your bets' alongside the players and directors.

Just heard from Karen at the office that both the remaining horses have now been bought. Still waiting for Mr Warrington to give us the name of his horse. The only way you can be the proud owner of a horse for the night now is by coming along and bidding in the 'Auction Race', which is traditionally the last race of the night.

For anyone who has never been before I can tell you its an excellent night.  You don't need to know a thing about horses.

The players are usually in attendance for the first part of the night and its  a really good atmosphere.

And remember all the money spent in the room is helping the club, behind the bar and on the races.

Totally agree with the above. It's a superb night and always great fun. I'm hoping to be back this weekend (work permitting) to enjoy the festivities!

Agreed...a great night...never been before? turn up this year and see what it's all about.

Bit shy? just watch the races on the big screen....you'll be queing at the tote table and roaring them home by half time.
