When the police asked their fan his name does he reply "Ug!" or "Baaa?"

they are known as the ewe crewe

"we hate chelsea we hate chelsea", might have been interesting if a couple of chelsea had turned up or even a few county.

cant see them being much hassle myself i thi nk our mobs ALF, the grass bank skins and the Arse( alty razor squad executives ) will have em on their toes seeing as we done Millwall outside various supermarkets, macc should be no problem

Not so Harv not so

it was different in those days when it was OK to hit anyone in the opposition colours ,(no code of practise in those days)so if you sang for your club you lived a dodgy life away from home and sometimes at home.

Firm wise Alty have never had one however in the bad days certain well known local eejits combined with city and united fans to ward off marauding mobs attempting to take the golf road. usually quite succesfully other than the famous blip against Scarboro.
When these reinforcments were not about we were all pretty good at running but i have a few fav memories of when we actually stood. patricularly once against a bunch of mods from northwich and another against  Rochdale.

We also once took the shed at Middlewich, the covered end at buxton and great harwood all in one heady season. i think it was a good job none of the big boys turned up as we would have been back on the coach quicker than steve  watson could crash his hillman hunter.

if one is allowed a favorite bit of football violence, then the northwich mods episode was my all time number one!!

it was in those formative years that i acquired my trouble radar, which has seen me move out of the way just before it kicked off on countless occasions. (usually leaving the gazelle to get battered :))

Jim, The Gazelle usually got out of it too Macc excepted, it was poor old Foxy that usually got a kicking. Even by Frickley fans once at Alty I recall.

My radar wasn't too bad but I did get chinned a couple of times, Macc and Wigan I recall.

Wasn't there a similar episode to the Vics one against Southport at home in their first season out of the league, when they came into the Golf Rd and a few lads were there. Who was that big ginger skinhead, Gazelle will know?
