FULL TIME - An absolutely vital win - and one that wasn't really expected prior to kick off.

But Alty really laboured to claim the three points. A touch more composure was required in the final third because if they'd had that, it could have been three or four.

As it was, they never quite killed the game off and Forest Green even had a couple of chances to snatch a draw late on, as the Alty defence panicked.

But, ultimately, they have to be pleased with the three points today, nothing else really matters.

With Farsley and Weymouth both winning, it was absolutely essential they didn't lose any ground - and they haven't.

There are a few things to work on ahead of the Crawley game on Tuesday and there is still plenty of room for improvement if they are to secure survival in the Blue Square Premier.

Forest Green never turned up today, they looked poor. Fleetwood and Rigolioso were kept very quiet.

Strange subs by GH that would have been criticised had Battersby not popped up with the winner. I guess he'll get the benefit of any dount for that.. Great goal by Battersby - showed a lot of composure.

Roca looked lively when he came on, but will need to see more of him before I can say whether he is BSP standard - Very quick though!

Overall an excellent much needed win, the lads looked tired and I hope Robbie's ankle knock near the end wasn't to bad. Ee can defintely improve on this performance for Tuesday, which'll hopefully lead to another 3 points ahead of 2 tough away games.

They did turn up, but with Lane and Co getting stuck in they did'nt like it.

Hence they got nasty.
