so in that case it is ok to hit the attacker with a broken bottle as play will only go back to where the advantage is gsained

So I was right about why he did it, even if he might have been wrong to do it. I thought he had a pretty good grip on the game, preferring to talk to people where most refs would have just chucked yellow cards round like confetti.
