I am genuinely in awe of the frequency and detail of news on our website. We're lucky to have such a dedicated person in John Laidlar and we all really appreciate what you do!

Looking at the above mentioned photo, would I be correct in thinking our lack of success in recent seasons is down to a distinct lack of big hair and moustaches? :)

I think that Frank Towers was one of those players who was named as an Alty substitute but who never actually made an appearance on the pitch in Alty colours (the Peter Stanier syndrome?).

I seem to recall that he was purportedly a forward and may have headed off to somewhere like Southport or Barrow.

I think that you're probably right Cult.I can't remember him playing any games.He may well have been on the bench or it may just have been one of those pre-season photos & he was immediately released as the season started.I have no recollection at all of him playing elsewhere.
