Shape of the rest of the season
« on: January 06, 2008, 06:11:35 PM »

... for us seems to be whatever we do against the other bottom 6 teams and whatever we can pinch from the rest.

Is that depressing or will it help focus the minds?

Im sure most people on here wanted us just to stay up this season. Not all but most.

I personaly would be more than happy with us finishing out of the bottom 4 and staying at this level for another season.

Yes i agree sometimes it has been like sticking needles in your eyes watching some of our play, but survival in your current leauge for most teams is always the first priority you then build on that moving forward.

I'm quite happy to finish 20th. I'm just wondering if the team go out without an expectation of beating the higher teams they might perform better. But then again when they are expected to perform against farsley etc.  they may not be able to turn it on like a tap.

I too am quite happy to finish 20th on the understanding that the board are looking for ways we can improve the situation.

Absolutely.

Not an ideal situation but no good looking at anything else now, just got to finish out of the bottom 4 by hook or by crook, even if we end up one point ahead of Farsley on 27 pts or soemthing daft. And then work out how and where we go from there.

Hopefully we fill finish out of the bottom 4. If our new loan signings and the rest of the team start playing together we will get the re-wards. However, during this season we have lacked in confidence and that is apparent in our play. When we play well, we pass and move the ball and to be honest you can not tell the difference between us and a team further up the table. However, if we go a goal down the same thing happens, we loose confidence and we start playing the non-league ball as i like to call it. When the left or right back gets the ball and boots it up the wing hoping someone wil get to it. LISTEN we need to stop doing that, we work the ball well or we can do, so hopefully these new lads from the league will realise that and we start passing the ball more.
Following on from this we need to keep biting at Farsley, and hope the slip up.

Anything other than a return to the wilderness of the Blue Square North would be a godsend....

Guys, guys it's ok, Luton will go bust and get thrown out of the league thus securing our conference national status for another year!  ;)

Finishing out of the bottom 4 would be great. We are only 2 points behind Farsley and 5 behind Weymouth so the task aint impossible. Lets get behind the team and get us out of the bottom 4.
