im sure gh would have the sense, if we have some new players, to organise a training session and possibly a meeting so all the players know each other and how they all play.

Hmm, I'm delighted that Ryan Shotton is coming back but my slight worry is that good a player as he is, and a nice lad as well, even when he was here the defence has shipped goals, it's not as if we were watertight before he went back to Stoke is it?

Still, he's a better player than what we have and his throw ins will be useful. Moreover, he gives us some real pace in central defence which has been lacking somewhat since he left.

I'm actually wondering if Liam King may be one of the best signings. The past two games we've been exposed by not being able to cover ground in central midfield and ball have been played into opposition strikers too easily. With him being fitter (i.e. full time) and a centre half as well maybe he will be the protective midfielder we've lacked since Val was really in his pomp.

Along with a left back and centre forward, a ball winner in midfield is the type of player we have missed so badly for most of the season. It could make a massive difference.

Not necessarilly a ball winner, just somebody who can cover the 40 yards across the centre of the pitch really quickly thus stopping oppo strikers getting the ball into feet so much.

Anyway get Whalley to tackle if you want a battler  ;)

Ballers,

As some chap called Meatloaf once sang, you took the words right out of my mouth.

Shotton is a promising prospect but he's not exactly Alessandro Nesta.
