From www.altrinchamfc.co.uk

"Altrincham FC have today announced that they have released Colin Potts (right). Colin (29) originally joined Altrincham in August, 2004 and his form on the right-wing was an important factor in Altrincham achieving promotion to the Conference National at the end of that season. Last season Colin left Altrincham to seek more regular football, having made just seven starts and four appearances from the bench in 2006-07 but he returned to the club for 2007-08 season. He was used exclusively as a substitute this season and made 1 cup-match start and 13 Blue Square Premier appearances from the bench before succumbing to a knee problem which requires an operation. In all, Colin made 82+38 appearances for Altrincham and scored 13 goals. A popular player with the supporters, Colin goes with the best wishes of all at Moss Lane. "

Good luck Pottsy, hope the injury gets sorted and your back playing football soon. Wonder if that place at Real Salt Lake is still available?

A sad day for Altrincham fans. Pottsy would have been in my starting eleven.

a very talented player who could tear defences apart. A creative player that we have missed and will miss in the midfield. Shame about the injuries, hopefully pottsy will be able to recover.
We certainly need a decent creative spark  for the team.

Pottsy will always be an Alty legend in my eyes. Very sad day but these are the kind of sacrifices we must make if survival is to be achieved. Let's just hope the incoming players are made of the right stuff!
