Has anyone heard about a pub or hotel in Torquay showing the fight? I don't want to miss either of them but unless i can find somewhere to watch it i will have to make a choice.

I have noticed a betting opportunity. Hatton is only 2/1 to win the fight but 7/2 to win sports personality of the year. If he wins the fight or gets cheated out of a win he must certainly win sports personality of the year as no other Englishman has won anything so that must be a better bet.

If that is the case i think it should be re-thought, F1 is as corrupt and farcical as horse racing....in my opinion

Will be an absolute joke if he does, Ricky deserves it more than anyone if he wins this fight.

What about Alan Scoothorne world champion for the fifth time this year..................... coarse fishing before you ask

five times must mean it is either skillful or he is one hell of a lucky fisherman

But Hamilton hasn't won anything.

he has won a number of grnad prix this year and was in with a shout of bieng world champion IN HIS FIRST YEAR IN THE SPORT ! ! ! ! (more than jenson button has done)  and he had more podeum finishes than anyone. now im not saying rickey doesn't deserve this i for one will be up watching the fight then catching the coach to torquay (i hope i can do both), but you have to remember the majority of people who will vote for this don't care about boxing and especially not one from manchester (i mean last year some royal won it just coz she won some stupid horse thing - who realy cares about that ffs).

Quite a few people who've won that award never actually won anything the year they got it - Gazza, Rusedski, Mansell, Owen, Beckham, Damon Hill etc.  Hatton should win, but I doubt he will.

Joe Calzaghe will never win because he has never managed to attract public attention. Ricky Hatton is instantly recognisable and very likeable. Calzaghe is a more introverted character, most people with little or no interest in boxing would have no idea who he is.

A stupid name for the competition anyway.

Did Steve Davis not win it and probably Alan Shearer and even Damon Hill (not sure about shearer).

Not one bit of personality between them - Hill isnt too bad.

Should rename it - Sportsman of the year - or to be politically correct Sports Person of the Year - or Sporting Acheivement of the Year - imho
