Can anybody confirm whether the Club Bar is showing the Stevenage game on Monday night?

The club bar will not be open on Monday night for the Stevenage game.

I understand that The Railway in Hale will have the match on.

Do we know why this decision has been made? Surely this was a golden opportunity to make a bit of extra money for the club? What is the point in having such a facility if we're not going to use it?

Staffing issues or maybe the club would prefer to us to travel rather than providing a facility that will help stop fans travelling?

Who knows  :o

The club do not have a licence to show Setanta in the bar!
The cost of a licence would be over £4,000 a year therefore make it financially unviable

Sorry, I had no idea that a licence was required.

As for the claim it would stop people travelling, those people inclined to travel to such a game in midweek would not stay home and watch it anyway. The idea was to make some money for the club whilst ensuring the maximum possible amount of Alty fans were able to watch it (not everyone has Setanta at home). At least we now know of at least one pub that is showing it so people can see it if they really want to.
