Stevenage game on Setanta.............................
« on: November 22, 2007, 12:22:26 PM »

The club are unable to show the game live in the bar on Monday as they do not have a licence to show Setanta. The cost of a licence would be over £4,000 a year  therefore making it financially unviable.

I know that The Railway in Hale will be showing the game live.

If you know of any other pubs that will be showing the game please list them on this thread.......

Thanks for this, great information.  I'll get myself down to The Railway then.

They've got Setanta at my local but have said they won't be showing it as no-one has asked for it to be on.
I then "asked for it to be on" and they said that they wouldn't be showing it as 'the regulars in the vault don't like non-league football'
I had to smile, most of them are Chester/Man you, Chester/Liverpewl or Chester/Evertun afficionadoes.
I was praying for Chester to come down the other year so it could make the football banter in there a little more interesting.

But seriously if anyone knows of anywhere in the Chester area who will be showing the match, I'd be obliged to know.
(Even phoned Vauxhall Motors - just up the road - but they don't have Setanta either)

Hah! No, I'm the W3 wing of London Alty. I'll be at the game but anyone's free to come round and watch it with my fiancee - ask her nicely and she'll fetch you a beer.

Trouble is most of pubs in Chester that have Setanta, will probably show Cardiff on sky, cause Robbie Fowler is being paid by Risdale again. Try ringing the Cheshire County Sports Club in Upton on 318167 and ask if they will show the game in the Pavillion. Normally I ref  Monday 7-a-side football there, but I'm going to Stevenage on Monday.
