Alty trivia question
« on: November 18, 2007, 11:24:11 PM »

I know the Cult is racking his brains on this one.

Who is the last Alty player to score a goal and an own goal in the same game (as Ryan SHotton did yesterday)??

...............

Very good Baldrick, already mentioned Shotton. I genuinely can't remember this happening. I thoought it might be MadDog against Darlington but he didn't actually score an own goal.

Anyone?

Derek 'Tank' Halliwell used to do it quite often!

I thought mad dog too just because he scored a fair few class headers at either end in his time.

I seem to remember Graham Barrow doing it in a game in the early eighties...

But there's probably been one since then.

Ballers,

Still struggling with this one.

I thought I had cracked it with Nigel Shaw at home to Telford during the 1990/91 season, as I seem to recall that he scored an own goal at the Chequers End......but it was goals from McKenna and Mark McCarrick that earned us a 2-1 win.
