Alty discussion on 'Five Live'
« on: November 12, 2007, 07:43:15 PM »

Within the last few minutes there was a discussion, ahead of the Reading v Arsenal match of our goal on Saturday.Mark Saggers said that he thought that Alan Shearer's comments about the free kick not being rehearsed were "a bit harsh" & Clem (not sure of his full name but I think it's Clement or Clemence) said it was " a fantastic goal".

I caught that too.

5Live seem to be far more knowledgeable of, and respectful towards, lower league football.

Had that goal been scored by a Wayne Rooney or a Van Persie, I am sure that the drooling and use of the word "Brazil" from the pundits would have been never ending.

The fact that we've been rehearsing that free kick for about 30 years is beside the point.

Now, tonight, let's get our feet back on the ground and prepare for the big one...

I think its well funny.

For years we have watched that freekick be over or under hit and now Alan Shearer doesn't believe us.

I remember Wolves trying a similar free-kick routine on a live Friday night Sky game  a couple of years ago, and they hit the post. I canīt remember who they were playing but they lost the game despite outplaying the opposition and missing chances.

I'm rather laughing at the fans of anyone who has played us in the last 15 years shouting at Shearer "Fook me pal, I can quite assure you Alty tried that one against us in (insert year from 1992-2007).."

Once a alan shearer hater always an alan shearer hater, i hate shearer his comment about chrisy's fantastic strike on saturday made me furious. He thinks it's just the big team's are the only ones to practice that sort of stuff and we just do fitness and passing accuracy. But Graham said that the team had worked harder in training this last couple of weeks than they had al season and if it wasn't for the ref sending Lane off we would have won. good luck to the lads tonight come on the robins

Shearer...don't get me started on that bloody geordie pain in the ar5e.

rememebr when newcastle played stevenage in the cup...all that nonsense about unsafe grounds etc.  in the replay shearer made the most of a clumsy challenge and engineered a sending off.  A disgraceful peformance from shearer.  That man has no honour whatsoever.
