just thought i'd leave a few thought on yesterdays performance. the team which was down to the bare bones did ok for the first 10 or so minuets and you thought maybe we could get something here, with heathcote telling the players as they warmed up "we don't roll over for anyone" the team looked like they were giving it a real go. but once the goal went in or heads as every time we have gone behind this season (apart from halifax) went down and we looked like we had absolutly no fight in us. in truth it was a game that we could have snatched a point from, logan was in sight of goal having beat a few men but then put it wide (by a mile) and sedge (who looked like the rest of the team was carrying him all game) got a free kick in an area that specialist free kick takers must have wet dreams about, but as usual he put it sraight into the wall (that hardly jumped at all). as for there keeper he was a disgrace to his club (who on the whole were a nice bunch of people the fans - despite having a drum were a good spirtied bunch) but after nealy breaking chris seniors ribs decided to have a go at us even going as far to threten to throw his bottle at us (now this may seem nuffing but had any fan done that to him we would have been ejected and possible word or two of the local bobby). as for the ground it was a decent ground considering the size of the rest of histon (but only one toilet for the whole ground). you could see in the usual players faces the disapointment at the end of the game, i just hope we can turn it around before it's too late. anyway weymouth at home should be a game to get a result (hopefully york will do us a favor tonight and beat farsley) and let's hope it's abetter game than last year.

A pretty accurate summary Duke, but lots of questions, why take off Dean and replace with a defender when we are down? I know Dean doesn't appear to be busting a gut but he is a striker and he should be up there getting in the way in the box and being a general nuisance so that loose balls can fall to Senior. We again played far too much aimless long ball and random punts anywhere. If we get the ball down, pass it and play we are a much better unit.

Naisbetts "challenge" was typical of him, I've seen him play several times before at AFC Wimbledon, that was pretty typical of him. Pity Lance Key didn't play, he would have got a decent reception I think.

As for the ground, not conference/BSP standard, ok for yesterdays inflated gate of 814, but how do they cope when Cambridge come, one toilet block, unlit path outside, temporary style stands each end.

i have posted my thoughts elsewhere but here are another couple
1. if our only tactic is to be a punt towards dean then we need to get players around him. whenever he won the ball in the air histon got the second ball
2. histon were given so much space and time to play it was unreal. when you play someone better than you, you have to close them down quick
3. 814 was really funny. when they announced it i just shouted 'no it isnt'. about 450 i would have thought

Yes years back, I'm Steve, I used to stand with Looie, Foxy, Simon Arron etc. Saw you on Saturday and was struggling to put a name to you.
