Unbelievable they must have good scouts to realise that we have nothing up front

Well 0 goals and some shocking performances in our previous 4 league games with York probably gave them a bit of a clue :-[

Connor in good form

15 mins - Alty have started to see more of the ball in the past five minutes, although much of the action has been in their own half.

We're not even a quarter of the way into the game though and already I feel exhausted.

No it's not due to the almost impossible quest to find parking near Bootham Crescent (although that did leave me less than pleased), it's through listening to the home manager Billy McEwen exercise his vocal chords.

He's not sat down since the game started and the only sound echoing around the strangely sedate ground are his strained cries. If the York fans were ever looking to improve the atmosphere at the Snickers Crescent then he could be a one-man choir.

Actually that's quite a scary thought! He'd need a stand to himself.

We'd all be happy with a point I think won't we?

We're worse up front but better at the back than Rushden apparently.

They just get better

20 mins - Still very little to report at Maltesers Crescent.

Much of the game is being played out in midfield and Alty are more than holdinjg their own. Whalley has dropped slightly deeper than at Stafford and the five-man midfield is doing a sterling job.

All York have been able to muster was another half chance, Ben Purkiss whipping a cross invitingly across the front of a very crowded goalmouth. Nobody there to finish it though.

We don't pass to our left sided players as a rule.

30 mins - You get the feeling that the Mars Bar Crescent faithful are very much waiting to be entertained here.

They've yet to really break into full voice and haven't provided their team with much encouragement. Maybe that's what three straight defeats has done to the frustrated support.

They did come close again, however, when Richard Brodie got in behind Munroe down Alty's right channel. The big striker got his shot off but Stuart Coburn got down sharply to make a smart save.

At the other end, Logan shot hooked a shot well over the bar from 20 yards, but that's about as close as his side have gone.

25 mins - It's been a more productive spell for Alty, with O'Neill actually managing to acquaint himself with the ball. Carlos Logan has also come more into the game and you can't help but feel that if Alty utilise his pace, there could be something in this game for them.

York don't seem to be particularly comfortable facing the winger at full pelt and on one foray towards the York box, he went down under a challenge from right back Ben Purkiss. No free kick and no yellow card for Logan though so I don't know what the referee's thinking was.
