Eastleigh at home

I really fancy us to put it over them to repay them for our only defeat at ML this season.
Will be tough but can do it.
Also it's a home tie so it could have been a whole lot worse! 👍
Come on you Supers let's have two wins over them in a fortnight!

Home draw is all we can ask for - assuming we were the last two balls out, it could have gone the other way.

We obviously played them at a bad time this season, I think they still had a 100% record at the time.

They'll consider it a crap draw, much like Barnet did.

Yes. Take that. At this stage very few easy games left, so at home to a side of a very similar level to us is absolutely fine. Reckon a reduction in the price might be an idea with the many home (and local away) games coming up. Eastleigh are not going to attract the local floaters in at 20 quid a pop.

That's a good idea SLA. We need a reasonable crowd to roar us on in this one.

Yes they were top when they won here but we were the better side and they did'nt impress imo and thought at the time that they would not stay up there too long.   I take us to progress to the last eight.

Plus they've now got to do all the travelling too, long way especially if they're doing a same-day trip. No space at Cresta Court now!

It's a home draw, so it's good no matter who we are playing.

They seem to be in a better run of form lately - they would have expected to win both Cup games in their current 9 match unbeaten run, but in the league they've drawn 5, and the only 2 wins were by 1-0 against strugglers Ebbsfleet and Maidenhead.

We need to keep Paul McCallum quiet (scored two on Saturday) but we should be capable of progressing.

Three home draws on the pop, no complaints from me.  I back the idea of reducing the price a bit, ?20 for the Macc game is one thing, ?20 for Eastleigh is a different matter bearing in mind the distance.

This is winnable.

Agree that a reduction in the price would be welcome, but it's not a unilateral decision. Eastleigh would surely have to sanction it.

Fair point Cult. They managed all of 63 away fans on a Saturday in August so it will not impact the travelling support whether it is a fiver or twenty quid.

But I wonder if we can evidence what the difference in attendance could be at say 20 vs 12 or something. I do not think making it 15 as opposed to 20 would make enough of a difference to potential home fan numbers TBQH to justify doing it. If you are going to reduce you need to go all in to make it closer to 12 or something to massively boost the home attendance & ensure it is not a slightly larger attendance but actually for smaller gate receipts.

I think it would be good if the club at least reduce admission prices for season ticket holders to say ?15 for the match as a good will gesture for their loyalty.

Sutton reduced standing tickets to ?10 and seats to ?14 for last nights game v Tamworth. The attendance was 951.

Just took another look at this draw - weirdly we're the only all-Step 1 tie, with loads of our obvious competitors for the trophy being handed tricky-looking Step 2 assignments, most of which are away from home, so I wouldn't be surprised if one or two of those drop.

Eastleigh will undoubtedly be our toughest tie yet, I think they'll want to give this a proper go.
