Rochdale Away Match Thread
« on: December 29, 2024, 08:33:45 AM »

Need to be more positive away, will be difficult as we have limited wide players, with injuries and suspensions. Personally,I feel if we don?t go attacking ,then they will pick us off.

Tough game.

                      Ross

Banks     Olson    Baines    Golden

              Marriott  Crawford

Weaver         Newby       Reddin

                      Linney

We?ve looked so rigid away from home this season, apart from the odd game. Need more freedom to attack and higher tempo.

Unfortunately, don't think Parky will go attacking and I can only see a defeat.

Hope to be proven wrong.

Haven't beaten anyone in the top fourteen away from home yet.
This could be a good new year's resolution for 2025 to rectify the issue!
Come on you Supers 👍 🇦🇹 🏆

I suspect that he'll go with the usual midfield with Newby out on the left and one of Reddin/Weaver on the other side, but I agree it would be good to be positive.

Postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Which wouldn't be the worst outcome in the world in light of our current absentees.

Yes. Agree with Cult that the weather is our biggest opponent for NYD. Forecast looks awful this week & Rochdale had their last scheduled home game vs Boston PP due to a waterlogged pitch. Obviously from the money angle they will be desperate to get it on but I will be holding off buying a ticket until I?m on the way across there on the day.

IF it is on then we simply have to grip this away record. We were poor at Spotland last season so we owe them one too. I?d like to see Weaver get a start in Kosylos absence & Linney is due a goal.Wonder given the closeness of the Barnet FAT tie there might be some rotation too. I?d take a point. Hopefully around 5-600 Alty there but know many others will be waiting on the forecast before buying.

About 24 hours of heavy rain due from this time tomorrow until this time on matchday.

No chance. They'll call it before noon.

Provided it stays above freezing on Friday night, we should be OK for the Barnet game.

Shame if it gets postponed as I was planning to go.
Can see the positives in a postponement, like Cult has pointed out, but would be disappointing as it would have been only my second visit to Spotland (the first being, if I recall correctly, November 1965) by the way, was that our last win there? 😊

I've only been to the Crown Oil Arena once - it was the Good Friday afternoon 2018 when we were playing at Stockport in the evening, and they drew 0-0 at home to Southend. Of course they were both at the heady heights of League One just 8 seasons ago....

Anyone know what our pitch looks like this afternoon? Obviously last season if we'd been at home today it would have been postponed, but interesting to see how our pitch stood up to all the rain overnight.
