Respect and Decorum
« on: October 10, 2024, 06:39:41 PM »

The thread on the national league cup has been locked. Not to shut down debate, but to put and end to the terse and vitriolic postings. If you want to discuss the merits or otherwise of any competition then please do it with a bit more respect for each other. Firstly, we haven?t a big enough fan base to start being so abusive to each other, secondly the moderators on this forum havent the time to continually take up complaints and reports of posts.

Some, in-fact a fairly sizeable proportion of the members of this forum are of seniority and I?ve always been taught to speak with a bit of respect to people in those generation?s even those with conpletely contradictory views and beliefs to my own. That might seem uncool and old fashioned to some, but you aren?t paying for or moderating this forum.

Feel free to be as upset or happy as you want about anything, but speak to people the way you would speak to them in the same room. That?s all we ask, it?s a vital tool this and many who don?t use other forums of social media don?t want it lost and certainly do not want to be faced with aggression for having an opposite view to some one else.

Play nicely.

Well said sir!! We should ALL have some respect for other people's point of view. Someone needs to be ashamed of themselves.

I'd love to know who you think this is exactly... Was it when I was called a T**t, or when I was called a clown, or when I was called irrelevant, or when I was called Arthur Scargil (by the high and mighty moderator, no less)? All for calling a collective group, not individuals, Scabs. Hilarious really. Or was it when I pointed out you personally can't reply to the right thread when calling me names?

I will never stop putting my point of view across and I will also never stop replying frankly. If you are easily offended enough to personally attack me after realising you are part of a group I'm criticising, I have every right to respond in kind.

So shove your one way decorum, and upwards travelling respect up your arses.

You've undoubtedly been the biggest aggressor on this topic (even to those that agree with you) and this thread is almost certainly aimed at you.

Give it a rest now please.

I am welcome to my opinion, you are all welcome to ignore it.

Still nothing regarding the many insults sent in my direction is there? Condemn that rather than piping up to try and chastise me. I was never the aggressor, earlier on in the thread me and cult had a disagreement but we resolved it in the thread.

I think you should all realise by this point that I'm not going to concede to this. My opinion may be abrasive but I did not make personal insults at anyone before they aimed at me.

I'll be awaiting the apologies and then and only then will I consider an apology back, I'm not beneath apologising for anything I said, but I'm unwilling to be the first one. Again, I did not make it personal first. It was actually far more of a pile on from them.

distance traveller taking it personally, and starting the insults.

OK Steve, stay childish and don't understand that a collective is not a personal attack.

You are confusing the individual and the personal. You may not have insulted anyone individually but you called everyone who attended the Blackburn match scabs which was a deeply personal, and shameful, insult.

See my last post, on a separate note we have a new player signing on loan from Blackburn Rovers, Charlie Olsen a centre back in the mold of John King.

See main site and my post in a new thread.

Can we get back to the subject of our club and game tomorrow now please?
