FA Cup
« on: September 28, 2024, 06:17:47 PM »

It's that time of year - am I right in saying the 4th Qualifying Round draw is on Monday?

Both M*cc and Bury in the hat, the former finally seem to have it sussed this season so I think I'd rather we drew the latter at this stage - home or away.

Who else do we fancy?

Chester away (if they beat Stockton in the replay) 😉

Not interested whatsoever in getting drawn into the Macc circus.

On the evidence of their performance at Wythenshawe Town, I'd be delighted to be allocated a home tie against Farsley Celtic. The hosts definitely merited a replay, at the very least.

Home tie. That's a start.

My wish list would be any club at home where we can pop four in after twenty minutes and the rest of the game is a training exercise.

Having looked at the northern section then I think either Gainsborough, Guiseley or the winners of the Hednesford vs Shifnal replay would be the most favourable.

So, that?s Gateshead or Macc then.

The Emirates FA Cup fourth round qualifying draw will take place live on talkSPORT on Monday 30 September.
The balls will be drawn at 3pm during the Hawksbee and Jacobs show as the competition approaches the end of the qualification phase.
Third round qualifying matches take place this weekend, with details of all fixtures available here.
Ball numbers for the fourth round qualifying draw will be confirmed on Monday morning, once all third round qualifying ties have been completed

Could have been worse - and it's a home game! 😉

Ugh, similar level of difficulty to last year's.

Being drawn away to them would have been the pinnacle of terrible draws - so that's a bonus.

Oh, and we won't have to give up half the Pop Side  ;D

Macc (at Tamworth) and Bury (at Market Harborough) will both fancy their chances on the day.

We should not be treating any competitions but the league and the trophy as legitimate any more.

They are the only ways we can get a day out at Wembley or better a day out at Valley Parade. I only care about progression not mickey mouse cups of any kind.

Let Solihull deal with the fixture congestion in January thanks.

The FA Cup should surely be in that bracket as we only need to win three games to have a decent chance of a financial windfall game against a top tier club. Look at what the United games did for Burton for example.

I agree, FA Cup games are well supported and provide us with a chance to balance the books, or invest further. We owe the away end to a draw at Tottenham in 1979.

Yes. I enjoyed the games at OT, Maine Road, Anfield, Goodison and White Hart Lane just as much as Wembley games (especially the Enfield one) 😉

I like the FA Cup, wow if we could get to the 3rd round and get a premier team, the day would be amazing for the whole club, also good PR and hopefully a good windfall of money..
