I demand a free Altrincham FC beach towel as well:

https://altrinchamfc.com/blogs/news/season-ticket-holders-go-free-to-nl-cup-games

I absolutely nailed this call (not the beach towel, but I prefer that idea)... Incredible how tone deaf the club are being.

I don?t think they are being tone deaf. They were a bit slow to put something on the website but Bill came on radio robins to talk about it. They?ve heard you, they just have a different view. Spreading the games out to once a month makes sense to me. Gives minutes to squad players in a way that we get paid for., without causing a really busy two games a week period that adds to fatigue and injury risk. If you don?t want to go, don?t go. I don?t see the need for such anger because the board have weighed up pros and cons and reached a different decision to you.  They clearly realise this is never going to be a fan favourite hence the low / free ticket prices. I can see where they are coming from and if their knowledge of costs says it?s worth doing then ok, they can get on with it.
Good of Bill to go on Radio Robins, useless for those who are at the game or watching the stream. No surprise that they think addressing it on a platform where a small fraction of our fanbase will hear it is smart, they are still trying to sell us their new see through fabric outfits.

The fact they are so unwilling to do a proper job of handling comms on this does not come as a surprise at all to those watching the state of our socials.

The fact that people can hear the things they have said and go "fair enough" says a lot about a portion of our fanbase. They will be the same ones who thought we as fans were bad for protesting the end of Heathcote's reign as manager. Or said we were just complaining as we watched the previous board freeze in the headlights of double relegation.

We as fans have every right to be vocal and absolutely every right to continue to argue the counter point put forward by the club no matter how little they like hearing it.

What you don?t have a right to do is write my opinion off as irrelevant or obviously wrong just because it is different to yours, even if you are backed up by other vocal fans. I don?t do socials so can?t speak to that.

You do have a right to argue the counterpoint but that comes with an obligation to a) listen and b) not make ridiculous comparisons like this is as bad as the board doing naff all about two relegations- they?ve agreed to an extra mid season friendly once a month for four months and given season ticket holders free access. Let?s have some degree of perspective- if that?s the worst thing they?ve done for years then really, calm down!

They put a statement on the website, which I?ve already said was too late, and people didn?t believe it or challenged bits of it so Bill took the a realistic opportunity (if people don?t want to come to the game they aren?t going to a public meeting on why the game is happening are they!) to follow up in a more interactive way addressing those concerns that were clearly put to him. I don?t know if it was recorded and could therefore be shared wider. Perhaps that would have been a sensible plan.

I did actually suggest to the club that they clip up the interview I did with Bill and put it on the website because I thought we covered a lot of the areas of controversy/concern in the ten minutes or so. But I don't know if it's possible with the way we do Radio Robins these days.

I have every right to write off your opinion. What on earth makes you think I should just accept how you feel? In the same way you don't accept how I feel? Telling me the board are not tone deaf, telling me the board have heard me yet the example you point to is a throw away interview on a poxy away day radio, when we stream and have our own channels to broadcast to all fans.

The TWO historic point's are both times the fans knew the issues and were told they were wrong. Not the scale of the issues the fans were right about. Other Fans also told us we were wrong and that we should be grateful for Heathcote saving the club/Rowley saving the club. It's easily as tone deaf as sitting in a fans forum and telling us that "nobody wants to invest in a football club" when we've seen how false that was for the past 10 years. It is a very direct line of comparison, not outcome. We are being dictated to, and some people will always just fold and accept this kind of sh*t, it's human nature.

I'm sure you can tell the under 21's that they are friendlies... idiotic comment to call a competition with money and a trophy on the line as mid-season friendlies. I suppose the CSC games are just a friendly to Vauxhall Motors and Nantwich - I'll let them know. When we play behind closed door friendlies they will be split in to thirds and when a player is snapped and injured they "pick up a knock in training". Why even make fans pay for that at all, if it is a friendly? How disingenuous of the club to try and sell it as our "first ever competitive fixture against Man Utd." if they know it's a friendly comp.

Will Ross Speight and Ethan Ross be taking over management of this comp too?

If we end up making it out of the group, and into the playoffs, we'll be at 10 extra games in the players legs at the end of the season. 9 before the most important game in the clubs history. It is bad management to accept this risk and not even accept it once in any communications. Are we going to use the 60k to pay a mid level backup to bolster the squad?

I hope they do release the interview, bearing in mind we control all our forms of communication so all of them are realistic opportunities, and they chose Radio Robins... They could have pointed an iPhone at Bill and released it across all our socials (everyone can view youtube).

Overall though, disagree with me, but wind your neck in telling me what rights I have, happy clap if you want but f**k right off trying to dictate how I feel. You can also see from the many many points that I have made that I did not just write your opinion off I drew a valid comparison to historic events and you saw it as a mirror.

It's the only way we'll make any extra cash fooling foreign fans that it's a real game.

I notice the club are now offering free entry to anyone to the Blackburn U21 game next week, not just season ticket holders. All unfortunately looking a bit desperate by the club. There will obviously be some interest in the game v Man Utd U21's, but what are the odds they end up doing the same for the games v Stoke U21's and Wolves U21's.

You don't even have to leave the comfort of your sofa in order to watch this competition:

It's just a small step now towards the club actually paying people to attend. I don't think even that would work.

Are the rumours true that there are stewards positioned outside the J Davidson Stadium this evening in order to throw any passers-by into the ground?

There is apparently a press gang working the local hostelries.....

I've never needed anyone to drag me into a hostelry! 😉

I think these press gangs drag you out unconscious though, and you eventually wake up, befuddled, on a ship heading for Trafalgar or watching a National League Cup game. :) 783 there, apparently.
