Between this, the shirt launches, and the absolute dogsh*te social media presence we currently have I'm wondering what the f**k the club thinks it's improving on at the moment. It's not the product on the pitch (we've regressed) the matchday offering

And yeah, I think in situations like this the fans really should say it how they feel.

Totally agree with the above. Not only should the board withdraw us from this pointless competition (for the reasons so well highlighted in the Eastleigh press release) but should have a good hard look at the matchday experience, which for me is slowly going down the pan in terms of the stadium and the product on the pitch.

This sh*te will back fire on us.
Pointless games, which I have no doubt will result in poor match-day experience. This could have a negative knock on effect via word of mouth.
Injuries.
Player fatigue.
Damage to the pitch.
You could go on?. Ain?t worth the money.

How can we trust this board to be the custodians of the club? How do they regain the trust after this?

Why are we so f**king terrible at being transparent about things that affect OUR club? Why are we so pathetically weak when standing up for the best interests of Altrincham FC?

We decided to come out and say some bollocks about how we'll just win without a replay rather than taking a stand and voicing our outrage shoulder to shoulder with other clubs at our level for the FA cup changes.

We've brought in over 2.5m in investments and there is zero signs of it being spent on long term value projects. Just wingers with dry spaghetti for ligaments. No improved ground facilities(fan zone took way to long for it's return), no investment in revenue generating sources (apart from mickey mouse cups), No re-investment in the same quality of player we lost over the summer.

I'm really struggling how I can trust this board now. I always thought having Bill as our supporter custodian, Lawrence as our bean counter, and Rob as our football oracle. Rob has gone, Bill has made some horrific statements fabricated from fantasy, and clearly Lawrence has seen 60k on the balance sheet and jumped at the chance. It's terrible form.

I seriously hope that the Golf Road let's the club know in full voice before and after the game what we think of this decision. Of course I expect nothing but support of the team during the game. We as fans, at least, know what the priority is.

Final comment, since I've said enough. I thought getting out of the NL was our target, why would we ever jeopardise this with such nonsense?

My personal option is to scrap this competition all together.
I would much prefer all NL teams to participate in the Carabao cup
All 24 teams to play one qualifying game with the 12 winning teams
Going straight into the first round proper.
Just my view and a good chance for good revenue against a L2 or L1
Club.

Ultimately the Prem clubs want their young players to have the best of both worlds - a taste for men's competitive football, whilst retaining their own training facilities - hance why United conjured up this 'innovative loan' thing where they just rocked up on match day - is it any wonder Joe Hugill was awful for us?

I suspect they thought the Prem U21's would be competitive in the EFL Trophy but they still largely get pummelled (I think United's were done something like 8-1 by Bolton's firsts last season) - so all they're doing now is trying them against NL Clubs instead.

Logically it would have just made more sense to extend the EFL Trophy into the National League.

Or just tell them to loan out their players and suck it up when it comes to training facilities - maybe a lot of these lads just need a reality check anyway.

I don't comment very often despite being an avid reader of the board and massive fan.

This competiotion to me seems the most ill conceived idea I've ever heard of in fourty years  (on and off to allow for my "playing career")watching Alty

Firstly in a crammed season how on earth are we going to squeeze these fixtures into the calender. We all saw what happened with the weather and the end of last season.

Oh thank you so much Mr Premier league teams for letting us have home fixtures too! At which we're going to have zero away fans so are the club are expecting all the usual fans to shell out even more dosh to watch a meaningless match in an already cramped season to generate the income!
100% we will make a loss having to open the dooors on these nights just to cover the electric bill as I along with many other fans will not be attending.
My plea to the board would be pull out know like a large number of clubs have done as it WILL cost us money for no benefit!

If the Premier League were that bothered about our level of football they could have easily donated a kitty of 12m to be spread between the 24 teams every season. What an incentive to stay in the National League or get in the National league with a 500,000 incentive or similar. However no a pat on the head and you open the doors and let our under 21's grace your ground at your cost and at your players risk of injury or cramming up the season even more.

I look forward to hearing more more from the FA however hell will have to freeze over first before that is likely to happen.

I'm assuming we've some kind of commitment to this farce which we cannot go back on now. If not I'm hoping the board put their egos to one side and stand by those who have already pulled out. I'll be amazed if the CSC attendances don't top it. It's a senseless act of folly.

Is someone from the club going to address this? Or are they happy with disenchantment of fans?

Are we incapable of reading the room on this?

Did anyone get any sense out of anyone on Saturday?

In this evening's issue of the Robins Review, Bill Waterson mentions that the Altrincham FC AGM is scheduled for Friday, 18th October.

A chance for you to address your concerns directly to the board?

I'm a fan not a shareholder. A little odd to make an assumption I'm one of the 317 shareholders, let alone that I would be available on short notice to go to a meeting on a Friday night.

Much less when the first you as a shareholder know's about the meeting is in a match day programme and not a letter notifying shareholders (I'll assume that would also take longer to arrive with me here in NL).

I'm not the only one who is annoyed by this nonsense, look at all other online sources for fan interaction.

Very strange suggestion that I should attend a closed meeting to raise my concerns.

I thought anyone could attend the AGM. I didn't think it was for shareholders only but (as is often the case) I might be mistaken.
