Many thanks to the Team Doctor
« on: July 26, 2024, 03:19:50 PM »

During the Tuesday game towards the end, Lacie our younger foster daughter ran round the corner of the Sports Hall and went over on her ankle with her foot colliding with the dividing fences as she tried to correct her fall. She should not have been running but said she wanted to catch the end of the game and watch the players coming off the pitch afterwards. After the accident she was unable to walk or put any weight on her foot whatsoever. It was her right kicking foot too for when she plays football with the Under 13's Sapphires Girls team. She was taken into the First Aid room where I joined her with her sister Brooke. They examined her foot and gave her some Calpol but we were unsure what damage had been done.

Finally, the staff called in the Team Doctor to examine her foot. He manipulated it and found very restrictive movement and she was in pain so finally told us to go to hospital to have an X-ray. We took her straight to Wythenshawe who took 5 X-rays. Fortunately the results were clear and it is just a strained and bruised ankle and she is out of football for a week. She is back on her feet again and walking normally, now without a limp.

Just wanted to thank the St John's Ambulance staff and indeed our team doctor for all their help, she is now ok and will be training once again from next Wednesday, none the worse for her experience. She has also been commanded, Walk don't run!!  All now ok. Thanks to the club for allowing the use of the team doctor too.

She is, she's fine now. Went to training on Wednesday and sat and watched her teammates train.

She looked very woebegone and missed being able to play, so has been on her feet walking and also resting like the doctors at
Wythenshawe and Alty advised. Though she still gets little twinges she is well on the mend.

We seem to be in and out of Wythenshawe Hospital with both girls.

Had me really worried when you started the post. So pleased Lacie is on the mend and proving girls show the boys how to deal with pain bravely. Hope she's not sidelined too long and back banging in the goals for Alty.
