They seem to have recruited well and have now re-signed Kurt Willoughby from Oldham on a season long loan similar to our deal for Nuttall. Should give us a real test.

For goodness sake Alty let's go for the win. I'll have a miserable time in the Greyhound if we don't! 😂😂

Strong 11 and looking good with a few injuries to come back. Linnet and Baines missing though??

This game was an absolute example of missing Linney, Marriot and Baines. Ethan Ross kept us in it until their goal. We had some really good spells and moved the ball around fast. Killer pass or finish missing and their pressure told in the end. We have to be more ruthless in and around the box.

We missed Linney massively and I am hoping that this won't be the story of our season.
Chester were decent (particularly in defence where Matty Williams is quality) but our one shot on target (Nuttall's powerful drive) summed up our present difficulties.
The little right wing trialist was again lively but suffered from having no one to provide for.

Matty Williams is brilliant and I can't believe he's stayed with Chester another season - a proper Rolls Royce and I'd have loved for us to sign him to partner Baines.
