Sbarra would be fantastic but I doubt it's realistic - as others have suggested, he'll probably get an EFL move.

Connor Hall has been made available for transfer and has scored quite a few at NLN for both Chorley and Brackley - a few years younger than Beck but I appreciate Beck gives us the slightly more Route One option we're missing.

At the risk of being bannished to that place in East Cheshire beginning with ‘M’ one observation i have on CCC over the last few games of the season was that he seemed desperate to get on the scoresheet rather than looking at who was around him in the box that were in better positions to ‘slot the ball’ home. Certainly a couple of chances at Bromley and there were a number of frustrated reactions as to why he shot instead of passed from his team mates in the box. Maybe its the ‘selfish striker’ mode i dont know, but as good as CCC is maybe , and im not saying he isnt before i write this, a more team focus no 10 is needed. I wouldnt want to see him leave as his skill is great but maybe his awareness in the box could be worked on and trick the opposition into thinking he is playing 23/24 style of ‘going it alone’ to draw defenders into him but then break out 24/25 style to pass to those unmarked so the team benefits from his ability scoring more next season

Just my thoughts. And getting packed ready for the knock on the door from the extradition team to cart me off to ‘M.;?)?;ld

Looking forward to 2024 season

He did have a decent amount of assists though…and there were more chances created by CCC that were missed.

Connor Hall is a player I've always wanted at Alty and I think it's a very realistic signing for us.

The problem is (as you correctly state) we really do lack an alternative route 1 approach, a Plan B and for me, someone of Beck's calibre fits that bill.

Signing both may be viable if CCC departs.

I'm sure I've seen Connor Hall tagged in social media posts with Lewis Baines (obviously they were teammates at Chorley), that sort of stuff has definitely got to help I suppose.

Might be that we've always had a limited wage available for a backup striker, but depending on any sale that might not be the case next time.

Yes, I was thinking that the connection with Lewis Baines might prove helpful.

He's not mates with Phil Foden too, by any chance, is he? 🤔😂

If  he does or if he goes anywhere hopefully we will ask if he can stay on loan for a season . Peterborough sold a bloke to Coventry last season and remained at Posh on loan for the rest of the season

That would be great, but I can't see it happening.

Latest news is that Wigan are interested.

Asking price being quoted as ?250k - but I wouldn't be surprised if the journalist has just pulled that out of thin air.

Selling himself short there.

He does seem a settled man in this area, that may be a factor for him.

If I got transferred and them loaned back I'm not sure how motivated I would be, It would certainly be disconcerting for me. Do I play my socks off or throttle back and stay fit?

Wrexham over spend from leagues above. We could have friggin prime Pele playing for us and they would still sign 35 year old smoker Jamie Vardy first.

250k is low, but if there is a friendly included, & sell on % it will all play in to how the deal is formed. Not to mention target bonuses for first NI cap, landmark appearances etc.

Tbh though at this point I'm bored and just want us to get on with squad building. Tell Phil to assume he has X amount extra and we just go with it. If, somehow, he's here next season we need to be ready for him to go in a panic over spend in Jan as a team sh*ts themselves and rolls the survival dice.
