Maidenhead Match Thread
« on: February 21, 2024, 12:32:43 PM »

Now become a massive game, anything but a win is unthinkable.

Didn't go or watch last nights game but like most was shocked at amount of changes. Sounds at least 3 players proved their worth.

Guessing Ross won't be featuring on sat.

             Gould

 Banks. Cooper. Baines.  Jones

       Osbourne.   Marriott

   Newby. Con-Clarke.  Amaluzor

             Linney.

Alty 4-0 Maidenhead. (linney x 2, CCC, Baines)

That's undoubtedly the side to put out.

I am hoping for the team at the top of the thread but Newbs and Justin need to keep on their toes as both Mooney and Kosylo are beginning to look sharper.

Has to be the above team, unless Ross is fit.

Would recall Donawa and give minutes for either Banks or Eddie. Both looked sluggish last night.

Also, if goes to plan and we are in a position then Wilson for either CM around the 70 mark. Again, both our CMs looked leggy.

We should start every game with our strongest 11 and then make the right  changes.

Can’t be drastically pissing about. Should be able to start two games a week as a professional.

Stay away from wing backs. We have enough wingers to keep at teams.

Maidenhead know the drill at this level & all their recent away games have been tight & low scoring. That said, it’s absolutely a game we have to win if we are serious about the play offs. Assume it’s our standard first XI back in, although again Parky will have one eye on Southend the following Tuesday too. No City or United clashes on Saturday so hoping we can push towards 2,500 again. I’ll say 2-0 Alty in front of 2,358 (56 away).

Not sure on the fascination with having Justin Donawa here right now.

Let him go and get plenty of minutes at a Chorley team that are going well - he got 90 in the tank the other night and we have enough options available to us.

He definitely needs regular game time and will get it at Chorley.
He's definitely a keeper for next season imvho.

Because Banks and Jones are playing every minute.

Donawa is more than capable RB, could play last 30 for Banks or even Banks to LB and Jones have some rest.

If we are rotating to keep players fresh, which I don’t agree with, then we have no fullback cover and only Wilson as CM cover. The positions that cover the most ground.

Fom the bits I have seen of Justin Donowa, he could happily adapt to either full back or winger so it does seem strange that he's been allowed to go out on loan.

Being honest, I'm yet to be fully convinced by him as a right back in a flat back four - he looked a bit awkward at Hyde, but I suppose they all looked off it.

That's not to say I can't be convinced, I just haven't seen enough of him there yet. He looked brilliant against Stockport in pre season, but I'm pretty sure he was a wing back.

I think he played at full back for Chorley the other night though.

More rain coming down this morning (some of it quite heavy), going to need it to stay dry now as I doubt the pitch can take much more.

Not particularly very warm or windy either, which isn't going to help - sun shining tomorrow though.

How much sand have we got?!
